Another thread about stockings

We love our stockings, and love opening them, but they do not contain the most expensive gifts.
Usually candy, calendars, gift cards (we are all adults), some fun trinkets, books, DVDs.

We open them first, then get breakfast and open wrapped presents while eating. DD plays Santa and we take turns opening so everyone can actually see what everyone else gets.
We also open one present on Christmas Eve.....that was always a huge deal for the kids, because they didn't want clothes! They want something to amuse and entertain that evening.
Oh...and always, new pajamas on Christmas Eve also....and when they were small a stuffed animal to sleep with. Now it is a puzzle book of some kind.

Oh I wish I knew how to respond to various posts! It sound like everybody has their traditions with stockings and seems to enjoy it. Now that I'm a mom, I realize how hard it is to shop for the stocking stuffers. I'd say that SS usually cost about 200 per person so finding things is a bit difficult at times. One of my favorites things is at the toe of my stocking, I know I'll find jewelry from my parents. I love to see what they get me (though I generally don't wear any of it). Also, one poster said that they send their kids on a treasure hunt! My dad is notorious for wrapping things 8-12 times and putting them in different size boxes, adding rocks to add to the weight and then finding a piece of paper that will lead us on a 30 minute treasure hunt. He must have got that from my grandma! I will say that candy and fruit is never something that we get. It's a good idea though!

What kind of stockings does everybody have? Are they homemade? (I think those are the best)...any pictures?

We usually hit the dollar store for stocking ideas and the Target Dollar Spot.

Stockings always happen first at our house. It usually consists of candy, giftcards, books, movies, soaps, lotions, ect. Its kinda whatever is out there.

Its my favorite though!! It takes us awhile though to get through them.
