Another Target Disney find - clearance!!

We have Super Wal-Marts here with groceries. Most of the stores are dirty and the employees are extremely rude. I go out of my way to go to Target or our local grocery store, HEB. And HEB has real meat cutters, LOL! Target's clothes for kids wear so well they are being passed down three times. Wal-Mart's clothes, yuk, stretch out, pill, etc. Target's clearances are the best. Let's keep up our support!!!

And Carrie's avatar is a dog,need I say more?

Target is fantastic! ::yes:: Their clearance is great and not like Kohl's. At Kohl's, I wouldn't dare buy anything at regular price because items are marked up so high. Target's prices are competitive AND they have the organized clearance end-caps.

For those that have a Meijer and a Wal-Mart: which is worse? Meijer treats their employees horribly, at least the lower echelon. Our friend's son was constantly being scheduled while he was supposed to be in high school classes! And they grumped about changing the schedule! Meijer's also the king of 35 hour-per-weekers (no benefits).

Walmart has been accused of that too. Read the book titled something like "How Walmart Is Ruining The World" (Not sure if that's the exact title) I read it a few years ago. It is pretty interesting but I still do go to Walmart.

It sounds like in general people have the same issues I do with WalMart - that most seem to be dirty, lack hepful employees, have tall shelves and tight aisles, etc. I had just wondered if people had other issues other than the shopping experience, perhaps more philosophical in nature (sounds like a couple did). Unfortunately, Target's clean, uncrowded look is both a blessing and a curse - there are things I have been unable to find there and had to resort to WalMart.

Thanks for the clearance tip! We found our Micky walkie talkies today, $20 and got an additional 10% off for signing up for a Target Visa card. My days as a Wallmart shopper may be numbered :>

Many of the profound reasons I hear not to go to Walmart applies to Target as well. The all under one roof shopping experience sure is convenient but at the expence of all our local shoe, electonics, hardware, stationary retailers, etc... The Mom & Pop stores can't compete. (Walmart is worse because they have groceries too)
That said- I shop at both Target and Walmart all the time.

Hi Mom2Mira,
I love shopping at Target and other stores to get a deal. Can you shar the site for the coupon/deal boards. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I am going to post this, but if for some reason we are not allowed to post other sites, just PM me.

http://boards.mycoupons.com/

Go to the "LWIF(Look What I Found) B&M Shopping Deals" to see the Target and other store deals people have found. There are also boards on on-line deals, coupon trading, tips of the trade(which is generally great deals at grocery stores with coupons or coupon related questions), rewards board, auction talk, freebies and a garage sale board. There are also home and family boards. This site is as addictive as this one...lol. I actually found out about this site on the travel board there. You will learn so much about couponing/deal finding there and make friends. There is no fee to register(though there is a premium membership that does have a fee if you want it). I am mom2miraj there, so look for me:D By learning how to coupon there, I normally save at least 60-70% each week on my groceries, but many times 70% plus. I also have had my DD's birthday(Aug) and Christmas shopping done since January due learning about all the 75% toy sales. Definitely worth a look.

Among the general store conditions, my beef with Wal-mart is not only are they driving the little guy out of business, they are also forcing major manufacturing companies to move overseas. They are demanding such low prices that the only way anyone can supply them is to make the products overseas thus eliminating jobs here in the US. Just lookand see how much stuff you can find at Wal-mart that is actually made in USA. It was told to me by a member of upper management that Wal-mart says they want it cheap and they don't care about quality, people will most likely throw it away anyway. When they come to our plant for pickup, the driver starts a stopwatch and if the truck is not being loaded within 5 minutes, they start charging our company for down time. Its' absurd. Sam Walton has probably spun in his grave so many times that he can't be in the same place they buried him.

I bought the Disney walkie talkies from Target (the Mickey Mouse one and the pink princess one) and they were awful....did not work half the time, so we exchanged for two new one's. One of those had no visuals on it and one WT in one of the sets you couldnt hear on. I changed the battery's 3 times (in one day) to see if that was the problem, but it wasn't. I finally went back to Target (a day or two after I bought them) and asked to trade them for some better quality ones. I traded in two Disney pairs for one pair of a better quality set. The new set cost twice as much and was suppose to be heard up to 5 miles. The first day we tried them out. My DH went to a store 1/2 mile away and we never did hear each other, at all. They only work at closer distances. Yes, we read the instructions eah time, too. I just don't think those things are as great as they appear to be...and certainly over priced f they don't work very well. Also, if you forget to turn them off and someone is on the same channel as you are (which happens a lot), all of a sudden you hear a strangers voice talking through your walkie talkie! The first time that happened to me it was by my bed and I was just waking up to some strange guy talking!! I hope other people have better luck than we did. My little ones just use these to play around the house now.

We took a set to WDW and never used them. We tried, but kept getting other people's conversations. My brother was having too much fun. People were so confused. We just stuck to our cellphones and never had a problem.

Add me to the list of Target lovers!! I used to live on the south side of Indianapolis and would joke that if I ever moved that store would go out of business! Well, sure enough, we ended up moving and several years later they DID close that store!!! haha We moved just west of Raleigh and there wasn't a Target store anywhere to be found near here. :( But, after living here a year, they finally built one 20 minutes (by interstate) from my house. The drive is well worth it, though, for the clearance items! Now they are building a SuperTarget just down the street from me! WooooHoooo! :bounce: I can't wait until it opens!!!
