DS3 never rides in a stroller except when we go to Disneyland. We have a Chicco Caddy that we bought 2 years ago which works OK, but he is getting pretty big for it. Since we don't use one at home I have just delt with this. When I got it out the other day I noticed that the clip that holds it together when it's folded is gone. These are my choices for our upcoming trip in May:

1. Rent stroller at the parks (but then I don't have one getting to and from, we are staying at the Poly)

2. Use the Caddy and try to figure out a way to make it stay shut (a ribbon or tie of some sort?)

3. Buy a new stroller just for trips (DS3 is our last child, so no one else would use it)

What would you do?????
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :)

Thanks,
Kari

I would either try to find one in the local paper, see if I could borrow one from a friend, or buy a new (but in expensive) one... you can get a larger unbrella stroller for not too much $$ (around $20 I think). If the one you have is getting too small for him, then it may be uncomfortable for him to ride around in (otherwise just use it, and take a bungee cord to wrap around it to keep it closed).

Okay, I guess I'm not much help...lol

Good luck!

ETA that your son (it is son, right? my memory isn't what it used to be, and I'm only 23! lol) is only 3. If you plan on going again in the next few years, a new stoller (or one that fits him a little better) would be a good idea. We have 3 kids (ages 1-almost 5) and the 5 year old still likes to ride in the stroller if it's a bit later and her legs are just tired...

Hi!

I would definitely bring one with you. Your son will be tired and it is so easy for them just to hop on the stroller and go from ride to ride and even sit in the stroller while watching the parades. Also on the way back to the Resort he can ride the stroller back to the buses - they are usually pooped out by the time it's time to leave. My 10 year old still jumps in with his brothers :teeth: If you plan to rent the stroller from Disney - it can get pretty expensive....

I'd suggest seeing if you can find the website for the company that makes it. Email them with your dilema and they might be able to send you a replacement piece.
If that doesn't work, go to a home supply store (like Home Depot) and look around. I don't know what your clip looked like, but you can find all sorts of things in the area where they have cables (cable ties made of velcro, different size hinged cable holders). You should be able to fins something that works (I spend a lot of time looking around in those types of stores because my DD uses a wheelchair and ordering anything from the wheelchair suppliers costs about 10 times as much as the pieces you can usually make do with from the home stores).
