There are a few things my son wants from Hot Topic, but they are so expensive. He wants some "combat boots," but I really don't want to spend $60 for non-leather boots. I'm having a hard time finding them in other places, though. Any ideas?

army surplus stores.

Duh. I hadn't thought about that. Thank you! Do you know of any other stores that have the clothing that Hot Topic does?

Hottopic isn't a brand name. It carries other brands at a pretty marked up price. Check ebay or you can go straight to the name brand website to find it. What does he want? I'll try to find a few links for you.

You're so sweet. He wants the Tripp General Skull Button Jacket and one of the metal stud belts - pyramid belts, I guess it says. I don't see a brand name.

you can get the studded belts pretty cheap through hottopic. I looked around. And I couldn't find the jacket any cheaper than hot topic has it.

sorry. :confused3

Thank you so much for looking. I don't mind the cost of the jacket, though it would have been nice to get it cheaper. I just hated the thought of paying so much for boots made of cheap materials. I'm going to check out our army surplus store this weekend.

Thanks again!

Oh, no problem. The real combat boots will be close to $100.00 but they will NEVER wear out.

Non-leather doesn't necessarily equal cheap or flimsy footwear. It depends on the material, of course. :)

True. These look like cheap imitation leather to me, though. I had canvas
combat boots in college (ds still doesn't believe me  ) that I loved. The canvas was very thick and durable.
