Another so-called member benefit bait and switch

Not happy with DVC or runDisney. Really Disney? I logged on at 11:01 central (one minute after available) for the touted "benefit" of early runDisney registration for Wine and Dine half marathon. I had to hit refresh a couple hundred times over 90minutes and never got anything other than "On Hold" and then slowly watched them turn to "Sold Out". Never got a single shot to register. What a crappy system. You really shouldn't be able to state this is a "benefit" when you only have a token few slots available and most of the people who would like to have one don't even have a chance. Typical Disney "bait and switch".

I get the "bait" but what's the "switch"? Did they try to sell you something else?

FWIW, this has long been an issue with the early registration. Disney doesn't say how many slots are available. I get the impression that it's more than a token handful but demand for the runDisney events has risen to the point that it can be difficult to get in that early block.

It's been a while since I signed up for RunDisney using DVC advance sign up but I know that I can't just hit 'refresh'. DVC times me out and, though it looks like I'm logged in, I'm not. I wonder if you had logged back in if that would have helped. It's true that even when I did it about 2 years ago for the first Avengers Half, it sold out in less than an hour. I got in, but I may have re-logged in at least once.

No I know I was always logged in because I was seeing all the races change from "On Hold" to "Sold Out"

Have you been a part of any of our rndisney event threads? If so you would have seen this play out again and again.

I myself have never had an issue with early registration but many have.

I think being 1 minute after 12pm sealed the deal. I tried to get into the Darkside race with my DVC membership. Was online, ready to go before 12. Hit the button, got in, but then had an issue and it kicked me out, all within 30 seconds. By then it was too late everything was on hold. I did get in during normal registration so I wouldn't worry too much. The numbers are reported to be very small for DVC/Annual passholders. Just be ready before 12pm next Tuesday and you should be fine.

I had the exact same experience. Was logged on at 11:00 CST (12:00 EST). Got my choice. System Error. Booted out. No more choices available. Hit refresh crap for hour and a half to see sold out.
People in IT should be ashamed of this fiasco. Unacceptable. Disney has lost it's Customer First policy IMO.

If you haven't already done, so, I urge those of you with poor experiences to email Member Satisfaction with the specifics. It may not make any difference to you for this time, but I know they keep track of complaints.
