Ok -- you have convinced me that skyauctino is WAY COOL! In my ignornace I still have another question. It appears that there is no price differnece between a one bedroom, a two bedroom, and a three bedroom. Is this correct? If there is a one bedroom available for the week we pick and a two bedroom... they cost the same. (I.e. they don't add more to the bid price if you pick more rooms?)

most of the bids are either at a particular resort -then it definites says what the upgrade will be

or at several resorts - then the bid itself says it is a 1 or 2 or 3 bedroom -

always read the ad carefully before you place a bid.

the timeshares through RCI all have a fix extra price of $195 per villa - ( I think there is also a $15 process fee) - but that is all the extra charges you should see.

now on the hotels you will be paying an extra $32 plus taxes for some of the place I don't even think worth $32.

be very carefully with any that has the Westgate icon - they have several extra charges.

now you maximum amount that you will bid and don't go over it (max - $195 - $15) and you should be fine - if you lose your bid but still want the place - at the last few minutes place another bid - sometimes it allows it - sometimes it times you out.

Thanks for your help Spiceycat!

Can anybody tell me what the policy is for this type of auction? Back to my original question...

go read the Skyauction Inventory post before you bid on any Ready, Set, GO

I have heard that if they can't get you what you need (not want) need - they will return your money (or most of it)

PoohnPiglet,

If you click on the "click here" in the middle of the page, you are taken to a page where you can check availability for your dates. If there is any availability for your dates, the resort options will pop up and under each it will say, "list available dates". If you click that, you will find out what size unit(s) are available. Yes, you can get 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms for the same price if they are listed here. Not sure if some resorts add resort fees, however. Also, there is another current thread about the RSG auctions' limited inventory, at least in the Orlando area. Looks like it is definitely down over last years offerings. Good Luck!!

:o Hi. The reply by Local girl is correct. Check inventory on RSG auctions. If what you want is not listed as inventory save your energy on that auction and go to a auction for a specific resort or one that says Stay 7 nights in Orlando at resort of your choice. In these auctions again check in the body of the auction and it lists names and dates available.

They do not charge your credit card if is unavailable even if it is listed as available on auction (Note it says available at START of auction) as they run several days they may not have inventory at end of auction.

You are right you can usually get a 2BR or even 3Br for same $ as 1 BR. I nearly always take a 2 BR even if it is just wife and I staying that week. Then if you have quest drop in (which we do often) you have a place for them.

By the way I have booked over 25 trips for self, friends and others on skyauction and have never had a problem. Booked 5 weeks with them for this year. Note my counter. Not back till Mar 10 (booked couple of weeks from people have got to know) Good luck and don't worry about bidding on skyauction. Only problem I have is that the word is fast going out and therefore more bidders. I have had to pay more this year than ever but still less than maint/taxes on resort so still good.

Someone mentions extra changes on skyauction when it comes to Westgate. Anyone know what those charges are? (Or where they are?) I only see the $32 per night. (and an upgrade option for $15 more/night).

iluvflorida: Hope you don't mind that I pm'ed you a couple of questions regarding your post ~ THANKS!

26555,

Some of the Westgate auctions have a fee added for the high season. Many of the ones I looked at recently, for our trip in July, added $20 per night to my winning bid which made it $52 a night before I placed a bid.

It will list any extra options at the bottom of the auction. If you look at this auction http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer?OFFER_ID=836824 you can see where they have a seasonal surcharge of $20 a night for the whole summer, more or less from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

the regular charge for a timeshare is $195 +$15

taking the $32 for 7 nights - you are already paying more $224.....

don't bid on these - they aren't worth it.....

Westgate is trying to make you pay the hotel price - not the timeshare price.
