If I win one of the 7 Night Vacation Certificates, how long before I receive it? Is it mailed or emailed?

There is availability now for the condo that I would like to stay at, but I am concerned that there won't be by the time I receive the certificate.
I have booked before using RSG with no problem, but not a getaway week.

Any advice is appreciated!

you should receive an email with the certificate number and the telephone number in an email as soon as your auction is confirmed ( that is the credit card information has gone through )

just not sure if the same thing happens if your purchase is made on the week end, as the email probably would require the intervention of a customer service rep to put in all your particulars

why not call skyauction at 1-800-929-9929 to clarify .....

by the way, what resort did you see on getawayweeks, have been checking lately have not seen near the inventory that used to appear ...they seem to be shifting it to more profitable subsiduaries such as the govt and arm forces travel clubs ( which are both run by rci )

Thanks for your help - I won the auction yesterday. I had still not received the certificate today, so I called Sky Auction and he said he would work me next. I received the certificate within 5 minutes.

The resort I booked was Vacation Village at Parkway, arriving the weekend before Memorial day.

That is the weekend before I am looking for. I want Memorial day weekend. I am booked for Pop Centry from 6/2-10th but wanted to go up on the 26th... figured I would do Priceline (that is how we did it last year) and I am not having any luck.. When you won that, did you have to pay the $195 fee too?? I do not know how those work, I only have bid & won the regular 7 night stays... I know in RSG you have the fee... I have nver won one of them... not yet at least :) I am tempted to bid on these new ones, but am not sure of the extra amounts..... thanks... :wave2:

I actually won two ways for that week. I won the "A" side through "Ready, Set, Go, Bid" for around $250 including fees. I won the "B" side as a "HOME & AWAY SPECIAL" for $200, but it also includes a $100 certificate for future travel. Wish me luck getting the units together. The resort said they would not have my reservations in their system for a few days. We havn't stayed there more, but it sounds nice.

Anyone used the $100 certificate before?

Currently, there is a straight auction that ends at 1:00 p.m. today for Vacation Village at Parkway. I noticed that it was won yesterday for $47, plus fees by a bidder.

The fees come up when you make your bid, so you don't have to worry if you missed something. Although, for some of the auctions, the resorts may add on fees.

I have called Sky Auctions and Vacation Villages, and they have both been very helpful.

What building did you stay in?

I was really glad that this resort became available. I needed to use my RSG by June 30th. When I purchased it and checked availability there were some resorts (non-inclusive) in Mazathlan, Mexico. However, I didn't check into the cost of the flights before I bid. The flights to Mazathlan, were very expensive. I need to wait until I have more frequent flyer points.

I have won two other auctions besides these through Sky Auction and have been very pleased. The main down side is once booked, you can't change it.

Thanks for everyones help!

think we were in buidling 5 ( in the older section of the resort ), just make sure they assign you to aan unit that has the washer/dryer inside the unit and if you plan on using the sofa in the living room as a bed ask if you can have one of the units that have been renovated with new sofas ...the old sofas were "terrible" ...read very uncomfortable to sit on ....can not imagine sleeping on it

but they have early buildings and newer buildings there, all of them nestled against the backdrop of arabian nights ( pretty sure exchangers are placed in the older buildings which are the closest to 192 and right across the street from Arabian nights )

if you go to www.tugbbs.com, look for posts by "vodo" or do a search on "Vacation Village" on the Florida section of the forum ( by the way it is free to register for the BBS but if you want to be a member of TUG you do have to pay a yearly fee )

"Vodo" seems to have been there more than once and it was information that she posted that we used....

the folks at the check in seemed to be able to work wonders with check ins, so i would be hopeful they can "join" your two auctions

very very very rarely do you see "2 bedrooms" show up with this resort ( even when you are looking at exchanges with RCI with a two bedroom, they seem to have broken out the resort into one bedrooms A and B sides )
