For those that have Sirius or even XM for that matter, did you do the car installation yourself or did you have someone do it for you? I'm not sure where I would put the antenna and I really don't feel like disassembling parts of my car to run the wire.

Thanks.

I had mine "professionally" done for my last receiver. I have a new one and haven't gotten around to getting it done yet. So I have the antenna on my passenger seat and it still works great.

Try going to crutchfield.com and check out their sat radio section. They have instructions with photos for most car models. If you are comfortable with the process, try it out. It will save you some money. :)

The antenna goes on the roof, they suggest 6 inches from the edge, and then you dress the wire around the window and through the trunk I believe.

Good Luck and enjoy :flower: !

We did it ourselves. It was very easy. We ran the antenna wire out the window at the back of DH's truck (we never open the sliding window) and put the antenna on the roof. We ran the wire under the seats and carpeting so you don't see it.

When I get one for my car, I will go around the back window seal, no big deal, seems easy enough. Instructions and the little jabby tool usually come with the car kit.

LOL, is that the technical term for that tool? I wonder if Sears sells one? ;)

I know, I'm sorry, so technical, huh?

I've done it myself twice, once on a Senta and once on a Rav4. On the sentra just push into the grove on the back window, into the trunk then push under the molding, stick the reciever to the dash and your good to go. Takes 5 mins tops. Rav4 is similar but it just goes behind the door and under the molding. I just can't see spending anywhere from $75-100 for something that takes no more than 10 mins

OK,I've made the decision,I AM getting Sirius,I'm going to buy the boombox and Sportster receiver. I want to install myself. Any info on van istallation?
