I've had this "bucket list" of Singers that I want to see before I die. I've been lucky enough to see all of them exept for a handful. The only few i have left are Madonna, Michael Jackson, Bette and Mariah. Madonna will never play Texas it seems, we all know what happened to Michael and hopefully we'll get the chance to go see Bette this summer in Vegas.

Last night I got to see Mariah in a smaller venue. It was advertised as a more intimate experience, blah blah blah.

She first off, was two hours late. The crowd was literally boo'ing before the lights went down. She looked fabulous and her voice amazing. Yet she only sang probably 3 oldies and sang some of the most obscure songs from her lastest couple of albums.

Secondly, she changed clothes every 3rd or 4th song. She ran over to a small table to sip a little champagne after every single song and then proceeded to ramble to the audience about nonsense. She claimed her tardiness was due to her being a Diva and she's never on time to anything.

She did make fun of her Diva side, having chaise lounge chairs and her makeup/hair people rush out onstage while she sips more champagne and rambled to the audience.

Her back up dancers looked like they're the rejects from So You Think You Can Dance. They performed as if they threw the routines together an hour before show.

I kid you not. It reminded me like a VERY cheesy, tacky Las Vegas lounge act.

I was shocked.....and glad that these tickets were a Christmas gift and we didn't have to shell out hard earned cash for them.

What the heck happened to her? After her train wreck year a couple years ago, I thought she was on the comeback? Emancipation of Mimi was an enormous success!

UGH!!! I cant stand her attitude. I refuse to see her. I can deal with Cher or even Madonna being that way but Mariah Scary.... PASS! :sad2:

Well, I love her and always have. Maybe I gravitate towards the ones with attitude, I don't know. :) It's more of her voice, then it is anything else. I overlook a lot about someone, if I love their music and their voice.

One of my former managers went to high school with her, and he had some great horror stories. It seems she's been the snooty Diva since before she was a star.

I can see that. Steven said that she's a "professed Diva" and not an "earned" Diva status such as Cher, Bette or Babs. Which I can kind of see. Celine is a professed Diva in my opinion too. I just can't stand to watch her pound her chest and raise her fist up in the air when she sings. Listening is one thing, watching her is another. :rotfl:

Mark,

I'm glad you got to see her, even though it was dissapointing. It was a dream and now you can say CHECK her off the list! :thumbsup2

Bette is AWESOME in concert.

And remind me to tell you storys of the Victory Tour concert back in the day. I was never a really huge Michael Jackson fan, but I'm SO glad we went to that concert. (now if I could just find the damned program I bought. It'd be worth a FORTUNE on ebay . . . )
