Another silly question about DME tags

This is just a little question about the DME tags. I had thought they were pretty durable but I have put them on and they are already a wrinkled mess and the way they are stuck on, there is a huge space that isn't stuck and it seems as though they aren't gonna make it through all of the baggage handling. Did I do something wrong? I've never used DME for the luggage service before. I want to make sure they stay on. We have extras and I'm not sure if I should try again... lol. Such a silly thing to worry about but I want to make sure my luggage gets to me. Thanks everyone! These boards are so helpful! :)

They are very durable. When you put them on the bag, I'm assuming that you tore off that little square (about 1 1/2" sq.) at the bottom of both ends of the tag, then looped the tag through the handle and then stuck the two the two ends together. Only the two ends should be stuck together..not the entire strip. THe looped tag should be free to move about the handle. Mine have always held up just fine...with no issues at all.

Thanks!! Yep, I did exactly what the directions on the back of the tags said to do. I think that's why I was confused. They can move all over the place and they are already wrinkled. I'm sure it will be fine. Just a silly worry! Thanks. :)

They're fine! Once you get your luggage in your room, just TRY tearing the tag anywhere! No, I don't mean separating the two adhered ends, or using a device with one or more sharp blades. Just use your hands and try to tear one crosswise. It should resist. They're Tyvek-like material, if not actual Tyvek. They'll hold up fine.

If you're really concerned, you can reinforce where the ends are stuck together with clear packing tape.

Oh - and it WASN'T a silly question!
