Another Shooting Around DC

Well we've had another shooting in a DC burb, this time a 13 year old boy outside his school. Our local elementary school is in a lock down (meaning the children are not allowed to play outside and must leave the campus with a parent). I sure hope they catch this nut soon, it's making me quesy just running to the store. Why do I have this awful feeling that it's terrorism--I hope I'm wrong.

Steph - just seen the report on our news over here. How awful for the poor people and their families who have been affected, going about their everyday life

Hope they catch whoever responsible, but from the report it seems as though they don't have much of an idea who or what - yet.

Hi Steph,

I heard this on the evening news, i just think it's horrible that kids have to be locked up in their own school.

School is supposed to be a place where our kids can feel safe and it's really come to something when we are afraid to let our kids out of our sight,it just makes me so mad

Hopefully, the person responsible will be caught real soon, it must be awful living in fear of lust popping out to the store.

It was comforting to see a police officer stationed on his motorbike at the school this afternoon. DS walks and I meet him for the walk home. All of us Moms were wondering exactly what to tell the kids about all this. I mean they all noticed that something was up--really, really didn't like having to stay in for recess. It's a shame, because the weather is so nice right now.

Just wish they'd catch this guy.

It's horrifying that some crazed person is going round shooting people. Steph, I really hope that this nightmare ends soon and whoever it is is caught without any more shootings.
I hope this poor boy makes a full recovery.

Ugh! This latest shooting is about 10 minutes up the road from me. I was walking late (7:00-8:00) last night and wondering if I should have even been out of the road. I go nutty if I don't get my daily walk and I'll be damned if I stay all cooped up inside because of this nut.

Since they've found this tarrot card or whatever it makes everyone think that it is just a nut and not terrorism. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Steph - I thought of you and your family when I saw this report

Local to us in Bournemouth there was an incident like this a number of years ago (caught the nutter, thank God) and a number of innocent people were gunned down, but at the time it was very scary not knowing when/if/how to go out.

Really hope they catch this psycho and peace returns again to your area.
