Another Segmented Dining Question

Hi all. I've been following the segmented dining plan threads and called last night to add the DXP for one of 5 days. The CM was happy to help, but advised that there is a possibility that if I segment, that we may need to change rooms. He said it was not likely, but possible.

Has anyone who segmented the dining plan at the same resort had this come up? Were you warned that it might happen? DID it happen?

I didn't add the plan. I would still like to, but don't want the hassle of having to move on day 3 of our trip.

Thanks!

No, I was not told that and from my understanding, that is the purpose of being able to segment under one reservation now. They remain technically one reservation.

We just did two segments--one at BWV and one at BLT and in neither case, was it mentioned that we would have to move--only that we had to get new keys for day 2 (we had the plan for day 1 of each stay).

We have only segmented once the first day of a 3 night trip...we were never told we may have to move and we were in the same room all 3 nights......we have a trip coming up in sept 4 nights which we added a dining plan to the first night...no mention of the possibility of not staying in the same room when we booked it

We have segmented many times over the past year, both at Beach Club and BLT. We never had to change rooms. I was never told that we would have to change rooms by MS.

Thank you for the responses. We are at BWV now. After reading the replies, I segmented the stay and added the plan to 2 of 5 nights. Today is the QSP and so far so good. The castmember who checked us in indicated that we are in the same room all 5 nights.

This is day 3 of 5. The plan was as follows:

Day 1 - QSP
Day 2 - None
Day 3 - DXP
Day 4 - None
Day 5 - None

Day 1 went without a hitch. We used the counter service meals for lunch and dinner on day 2.

Day 2 = Although we were advised that we would need to check in again, we found our new room keys and our bill from day 1 had been slipped under our door. There were no issues.

Day 3 - No new keys under the door. I went to the desk early this morning and checked out and in. Then went to the bakery to redeem mugs,....No issues.

I'll post back how our table service reservations go.

Well, they slipped the new room keys under our door on day 3 while I was at the front desk checking in again.

We used one DXP credit for lunch at Le Cellier. No issues.

Day 4 - I checked out and in and we headed off to Magic Kingdom for a Crystal Palace breakfast. No issues. Dinner was at Coral Reef. Again, there were no issues with the plan, credits, etc.

Overall, the Boardwalk seems to have this down to a science. We didn't move rooms and the checkin in and out were seamless. There was not a single issue with the meal plan.

This morning we checked out of BWV and into the Beach Club Villas.

So far, an AMAZING trip.

So glad the segmenting is going well for you! We have a segmented trip next week and it is encouraging to hear all is going well!
This will be our first time using the DXP and DDP and our first time using our DVC points...soooooexcited :goodvibes We will be 2 nights at BCV, 2nights at VWL, 2 nights at BCV.
We too are planning lunch at Le Cellier and breakfast at Crystal Palace...do you have any tips or suggestions you can pass along?
Looking forward to more posts of your trip ~o~

I was told by MS that they could easily link two reservations together, but if you had any more than two it could cause a lot of issues?
