Another rookie banking ?

Sorry to repeat what I'm sure has already been answered. We just bought AKV with a December UY. So, we get points in December that we can't use until after May 2009. I'm pretty sure this means that I don't have to worry about banking points this year because I don't have anything to bank yet -- but I just want to be sure Don't want to lose any points! BTW, we are planning on using those points next summer if it matters. Thanks for the help.

I assume you mean you will get your first allocation of points on 12/1/08. In that case those points are good for any trip between 12/1/08 and 11/30/09 and do not need to be banked for any trip during that time. You can bank any into the Dec 2009 if you have some left over after reserving next summer's trip but have until 7/31/09 to do the banking.

Caveat: I am not sure of my assumption. If you are getting points that were issued Dec 07 (doubtful but make sure), then you need to bank them into the Dec 08 year as part of the sale.

You will receive your points on December 1, 2008. Those points can be used for reservations between December 1, 2008, and November 20, 2009. No banking is required to use your points for a May 2009 trip.. Be sure to bank any unused points by July 31, 2009.

If you do bank them and then something comes up, a quickie trip, you can't use those banked points until 10, correct?

But you can borrow against 10 in 09?

Correct, banking and borrowing are final transactions. If everything is banked, but you want to travel, you can borrow.

Nvrenoughdisney - we are also in the process of buying AKV with Dec UY. It is my understanding that we get those points Dec 1 and can use them until Nov 30, 2009. I think the May 2009 comes in because that is when Kidani will be open. We plan to use our 160 developer points in 2009, bank the AKV points and have a great vacation in 2010!

My fiance and myself are planning to buy into Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas this coming month. We will not be planning on using any points until Oct 2009 and we won't be using all of the points on that vacation, how many times can you bank left over points, can you bank any leftover points after every year or are they only good for so long?

you can bank points once. after that, they will expire at the end of the next UY.
