Another Review of Lookout Cay

Agree 100% with your review. My family and I were just there at the end of July beginning of August and found the beaches so beautiful and the pier wasn't that bad of a walk. The only complaint we had was that, when we were there, cast members said we had to get into different food lines depending on what we wanted to eat ie one line for burgers and hot dogs and then we had to get into a different line if we wanted chicken and ribs. It would be nice to have one line to get all the items you want.
Agreed. We just did a divide-and-conquer strategy (one person got burgers for everyone who wanted them, someone else went and got enough chicken and ribs for everyone who wanted those, etc), but it would be hard for people with younger kids. I get it's for crowd control purposes, but I can see how it could be super inconvenient.

I agree that if you have multiple people with you that you can divide and conquer its not so bad having multiple food lines but if you don't have that option it can be a very inconvenient but I didn't think to ask a cast member if they could help me but I will try that next time and report back :)

Do you remember the approx time it took you to get from the beach back to the ship?

Maybe 25-30 minutes? This includes the time it took to get from the beach to the tram, from the tram to the pier, and across the pier to the ship. This is just an estimate, though, because we did do an excursion and you check in for those at the end of the pier, so that entire process was a little broken up for us.

They were recently added for booking for the WBTA, which will be at Lookout 11/1.
Thanks. For our cruise (not too long after yours), the bike rentals at Lookout Cay are showing as "sold out" -- which, doesn't happen at Castaway, so I assume it's not actually offered yet. There are combination bike/ kayak or bike/snorkel, but we just want to ride around on our own like we do at CC. Report back if you see the regular bikes on your cruise, please!

It showed as Sold Out on our cruise too until just recently.
Hopefully the bikes are available sooner than Nov., but if not, I made a note to come back & answer. :)

Sounds nice! We're going next August, so things will probably be different then. Just wondering if you have any suggestions for an adults only group. The family beach is fine for us on Castaway Cay. I'm assuming we'll feel the same about Lookout Cay.

A big difference on LC is that the family and adult areas are on the same physical beach. Same water, with some space in between. You do have Serenity Bay BBQ for the adults. And Blue Hole Bar is at the Northern end of the beach - farthest away from the family area.

You may want to walk the entire length of the beach, to the South, and see the eponymous Lighthouse Point. The beach at that end is reported as lovely and less visited.

There is reported snorkeling. Something I have never really found at CC’s Serenity Bay.

But there are no floats available - nor allowed.

The adults area is super convenient, just down the beach from the family area. They have a CM standing where Serenity Bay begins to kindly tell families that they need to turn around lol. They were actually VERY good about checking ages of people when we were there (my 6'3" 18-year-old son was with me and they asked how old he was). If we hadn't also had our 16-year-old with us back on the family beach with DH, we would have just set up camp in Serenity Bay instead. They have their own bar, their own restaurants, their own bathrooms...and easy peasy to access.

I'm curious, if I were at LH, I'd spend the entire day enjoying that beautiful water. At the end of the day, if you are in the water, do they make an announcement over a loud speaker that its all aboard time?

Never heard one. The lifeguards would call you in, I imagine. You will the Cast Members closing umbrellas.

And if anything like CC, it will feel like a ghost town an hour before All Aboard.

Someone in our cruise group just posted that they removed the bike portion of the bike/kayak, and bike rental is showing as sold out again.

Thank you for the review. We were there in mid July, and the beach was spectacular. I'd argue the island experience has more of a resort vibe than Castaway Cay, which didn't put me off, but I like the vibe at CC a little better. I am being nitpicky --- it's not a big deal ... just a preference.

That being said, nothing, and I mean nothing, tops that beach/water at Lookout Cay ... even when comparing it to CC. And the beach at CC is beautiful, so that's saying something.

We are definitely going back.
