Another question (or two) about Buffalo?

Hello :flower:

I am seriously considering flying out of Buffalo next year as we always have to travel during the March Break (I teach). This of course always makes it more expensive!

Anyways ... what airlines should I be looking at for flying out of Buffalo? Can I get direct flights? How far in advance do seats usually go on sale?

Thanks in advance
Kerri :sunny:

p.s. It is crazy ... but the post below about the inside playground equipment at the airport made this sound even better (although I like to save money too ;) ).

There is some good deals out of Buffalo.. I think most of us like southwest, but there is also quite a few that fly out of there.. I always go to www.sidestep.com to check all the carriers at once.
whatever you decide you are going to DISNEY and that is all that matters!

Yes, you can get direct flights. SWA has a couple a day. We flew out at 7:15 a.m. and were nice and warm by 9:30 a.m. (Bonus day as I see it!) and we flew home direct at 4:10 p.m.

Keep looking for the deals!

We are flying Northwest airlines this March from Buffalo to Orlando. Not a direct flight but a good deal !And we can reserve our seats together.

We flew out of BUF at the beginning of Feb on SWA and it was really easy - and really cheap. We drove down the day before and stayed over at the Homewood Suites. The hotel was nice and offered a great brekkie in the morning. We had to leave around 6:15am, and at that time they actually had muffins, cereal, coffee, tea and were just setting up the 'hot' food - really great. The hotel drove us over in their mini-van and we left our car at the hotel. The hotel was $89 USd plus tax - worked out to about $118 CDN. The airport could not have been easier, fairly small, easy to navigate, and we were able to gate-check out luggage as soon as we arrived.

I would recommend flying out of BUF, it's the only way for us from now on. Our flight literally cost us the amount of the TAX flying out of Pearson.

What did you do about tickets for flights? Print them out the day you were going ??
thanks Diane

We have flown out of BUF on SWA about 15 times now. We always print out our tickets before we leave for the airport. However, when our flight is in the morning and we stay over in BUF we stay at the holiday inn right across from the airport. They will print your tickets out for you. You just need to go down to the desk at 12:01 or after on the day of your flight and they will print them out. The holiday inn express is a great place to stay. Very nice breakfast and they will pack you a breakfast bag to go if you're flight is really early. We will never fly out of Toronto again.

We fly Jet blue out of BUF, haven't had the patience to wait for SW dates to open. If we could get a great deal on a short notice trip then we would give them a try.

Jet blue has the first gate on the right after security, very easy. No Direct flight from BUF to MCO, but most times, we only have 20 or 30 minutes on the ground at JFK, and all of Jet blues flights are in the one terminal, #7 I think. We general pay 250.00 CAD or less person on Jet blue and they have leather seats, extra width, and extra leg room in the back 2/3 of the plane. Each seat has a personal TV with 30+ channels.

The best parts of travelling through BUF are that you go through customs at the boarder, not at the terminal. Curb side baggage check in. Most domestic flights allow for three pieces of luggage. And you are domestic passenager at MCO for the return flight.

Do you have the number for the holiday Inn sounds perfect. I was wondering how we would be print tickets actually a little worried. I was also wondering did the holiday inn let you leave your car there for the week??? If not which hotel does allow you to do this??
If somene would be so kind as to provide me with hotel phonenumbers I would be so grateful.
thanks Diane
