Hello folks.

My nephew is studying for a semester in Manchester (and loving it!!!) I have some gifts I would like to send him for Christmas. He won't be coming back to the States until after the New Year.

Can anyone 'guesstimate' for me how long it would take to post a package that is about the size of 4 shoeboxes (if you put them all together). I want to be certain he gets it, but I also don't want it to arrive TOO early.

Thanks so much!

Debbie

Hi Debbie,

My quesstimate would be the very beginning (sp!) of December, like the 1st or 2nd:cool:

I'm sure someone will post though who actually knows:Pinkbounc

If its any help, over here in england, I usually post parcels to the states by the 9th of december to ensure they get there, im not sure how it works your end, hope that helps.

just check how much a parcel that size will cost to post.

My sis in law sent my dd a present form Orlando (sorry, no idea when it was posted) , but I noticed it cost her $12! and it was only some Barbie clothes. I couldn't believe it had cost so much.

I get scrapbooking parcels sent quite often, and first class takes about a week, maybe two. Surface is a lot cheaper but can take upto 2 months. Of course, with the Christmas rush everything takes a bit longer.

Hi Debbie,
I live in Manchester and I am so glad your relative likes it here.
If you are using UPS allow 21 days at that time of year, usually it is around 10 days.
Please remember to put gift on the front of the parcel otherwise tax will be collected, my last parcel from the US also has a £10 airport charge on it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Rain, thanks so much for the tip!!! He is really enjoying it there. Was 'accosted' his first day walking around school to play rugby with the lads ;) (he is 6'3" and pretty studly, if I do say so myself). He is having a ball, and might actually be studying every now and again! :)
