Quick question:

I am looking into booking a 4 day cruise for September. My husband just told me he wants to add a few days on to the 'front end' of the vacation, but doesn't want to do the parks. So, I guess it would be dumb for me to book a "Land & Sea vacation" since we're only going to relax at the resort prior to the cruise.

OK, here's the tricky part: will Disney allow us to board one of the cruise buses going to Port Canaveral even though we didn't book the entire Land and Sea package?

I'm guessing that they won't allow us to hitch a ride, but I figured you guys would know for sure.

Thanks!

Staying somewhere other than one of the WDW resorts? If you're not going to the parks, there are a lot of really nice places to stay off-property. We have stayed several times at two of the Marriott timeshares in Orlando -- Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista. You can get a condo at either one of those, for the same or less than what you would pay for one of the WDW moderates or higher.

Then, drive back to MCO and take the DCL bus from there.

Just a thought.........

If you buy DCL transfers they will let you on the bus.

If you want a less hectic pace than WDW you could always visit sea world. It's big, but the shows are sit down and its a more relaxing day than a Disney park.

Or maybe you could spend the first part of the trip on the coast.

Don't forget that if you have a rental car (depending on which company), you could simply drive to the coast, drop it at the rental car company and take a shuttle over to the port. We do this and it's cheaper (for 4) and more flexible.
