Another question about La Quinta

Is it really in walking distance? I know alot of people have a different idea of walking distance. We'll be going with my just turned 4 year old twins and I'm undecided on bringing the stroller. I'm sure they won't be riding in it the whole time, but it will be nice if they get tired and to carry stuff in.

Take a look at the map at http://www.accommodationsneardisney.com/Disneyland/default.asp. La Quinta is at Clementine & Katella, and I don't think that anyone would say that's walking distance! :scared1: We stayed there several years ago (when it was a different hotel chain), and we drove to the Disney parking structure (was before ART). Sorry if you were led to believe it's walking distance. :confused3

ummm, we walked it in April and in July. Twice a day for 3 days, each time.
It is a looooong walk though, about 15 minutes. The stroller definately helped. The last day we figured out we only had to walk to the Puumba lot and then take the bus in.

I probably should have said that I don't think "many" would consider it walking distance. :goodvibes When we stayed there, it was before GardenWalk, so it would have meant walking by a long block of empty, abandoned property. It would have been a bit scary because there was no foot traffic along that route at that time. It probably has a different feel now that you walk by GardenWalk.

(I think that GardenWalk is along the walking route now... Someone please correct if I'm wrong.)

So, I'll modify to say to the OP that I recommend staying there with an understanding that it's a long walk, and I'd definitely take a stroller for your children. :flower3: I'm pretty sure that ART is always an option if you find that the walk if just too long for your family.

A 15 minute walkk sounds about right looking at the map. We walked from HoJo in about 7 minutes and La Quinta looks about twice as far.

I also have walked it and I would say you will want a stroller. It didn't seem that bad to me and having Garden Walk there does make it more interesting. It can seem a long walk to get out to PPH too.

We are staying at La Quinta for the first time in March! We are big walkers so I don't think the .5 mile walk will bother us. We will definitely have our stroller though!

We stayed at LaQuinta in Octorber '09. Walk was not terrible (we walk our dogs 2-3 miles every day at home) but after a long day it would be less than enjoyable.
We used ART for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the busses being on time or early, and never having a problem getting on a bus to or from DL.
Well worth the cost, especially if you want to make a mid afternoon rest stop at your hotel.

Can it be walked.......yes.
Is it too far.........no, but it depends on your definition of far...;)
Would I do it with small children..........probably not...
YMMV:)
