So my b/f and I will be flying to Disney using Southwest. I just purchased Early Bird Check-in but only for myself. Will I still need to check-in at the 24 hour mark in order for my b/f to get a boarding pass online? How doe it work if only one person purchases the early bird? Thanks!

Yes, your bf will need to check in to get a boarding pass. Obviously, if he does it online at the 24 hour mark, he will get a better number than if he waits. You can print yours at anytime as your boarding number will be assigned 36 hours in advance - before anyone who didn't purchase EBCI can check in. (Some SWA classes of service will get boarding priority over the EBCI buyers, but that is usually not an issue since it's mostly business people and those who purchase the highest priced fares).

You & your bf will not be able to board together, because boarding is by number and he will undoubtedly have a lower one than you. You can try to save him a seat when you board , but there is no guarantee that someone else won't try to sit in it, LOL.

My dd, dh and I are all flying together in August. I paid for EBCI for my dd and myself. I will check dh in at the 24 hr mark, but I don't really care about his number. My dd will take the window seat, I will take the aisle and dh can switch with me when he does get onboard...I always end up in that middle seat.
