We are thinking of getting a condo for a week in January. Are there a lot of snowbirds that fill these places up that time of year? Do I need to be concerned about availability? Or is this something i should be able to wait until say...oh..november to book? I noticed that this is considered "value season" for the onsite properties, what about offsite?

There are plenty of places available so you shouldn't have a problem finding something. The only problem about leaving it later is you may not get the place that you want :confused3 January is generally considered as low season in the rental market just like it is value season on-site - I suppose after the Christmas/New Year celebrations it is a bit quieter.

Unless you want a certain place I don't think you'll have any problems finding something. We booked two weeks before we went last March and although we didn't get the exact place we wanted it was still in the same subdivision. January is a low month (after the first week) so you should be able to book in Nov and get where ever you want and at a good price.

Nov / Dec would be great times to book for January actually, and it's low season offsite as well as onsite. Right after Xmas/New Years the rental market goes absolutely crazy with inquiries for rentals for Feb-May....so just make sure you do it before Xmas and you should be fine.

I have to book mine months in advance to get what I want. You should check into Summer Bay Resort, it is a timeshare condo but they rent by the night if available. It was 4 miles from Disney, but the most wonderful luxurious place we have ever stayed! It is more expensive than others, I think $160.00 or $180.00 a night in Sept. when we go, but so worth it!!!:goodvibes

Agree with 5min2disney. Nove/Dec would be great times to book but the earlier you book, the more choices you have for the specific home you want.:)
