...... took my DD up to her uni yesterday. It only seems like yesterday that she was born  but roll on 18 1/2 years and here she is starting the next exciting chapter of her life.

Good luck to everyone starting/returning to uni this autumn. :wizard: :wizard:

Glad you got Samantha settled in ok after you'd repacked for her. We did an Asda shop for Daniel before we left him - £128:scared1: and that wasn't including his new duvet etc. Think it will be us living on baked beans this week

He's sharing a kitchen in halls with 7 other students and when we arrived ( after the big shop) there was already 5 bottles of washing up liquid lined up :rotfl2:

After being a puffy eyed weeping mess on Monday, I now feel better after talking to him on Skype and I'll definitely join you Elaine being a proud parent :goodvibes

Will pm you in next few days :)

 Hugs to all the mums and dads sending their sons and daughters off to Uni. Thankfully my DD is able to carry on with her HND at the college she did her National Diploma, so she's still at home

Thank fully mine are far too young to be leaving for uni - only just got over the trauma of leaving them at primary school :-)

Hugs to all the moms and dads who are leaving their big kids at uni this week !!

Good luck to everyone heading off to Uni

Good luck everyone going to Uni.

Seconded!

Elaine and Lesley: hope your DD and DS are settling in. I know it's easy to say, and my mum was the exact same way, but try not to worry :goodvibes it'll be Fresher's and they'll be having the time of their lives :)

I totally agree. It's a scary but exciting time! I wish I could do it all over again. :goodvibes

Good luck to all the new undergrads!

He's already found the student union bar :rotfl: Tomorrow is the freshers fayre and friday the ball at Oceana.:woohoo:
May calm down next week as two days, his lectures finish at 7pm :scared1: Looks like long days with gaps mid day....... to catch up on the washing etc. Yeah right :rotfl2:

Hope all the other Mums are feeling ok after leaving their sons and daughters. Feel so much better after speaking to him courtesy of Tesco's £4.95 headset and free skype.

When I first moved to uni, my mum was insisting that we both got webcams.

I just couldn't do that because she would have seen the real state of my room, and would have been straight over armed with the vacuum cleaner!

I'm in my 4th year now, but I think I might have to do Fresher's all over again next week ;)

I agree Lesley, Skype is great! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2ah I recall the uni days ...but i won't worry you with the details I'm sure they will be fine whilst you worry yourself silly! it will be worth it in the end :goodvibes

Good luck to all of the students starting at Uni. It must leave the parents with very mixed feelings. I hope my 3 girls all go to University and that they reintroduce grants/ abandon fees by then.;)

My neph, Sam is off to Leicester Uni on Monday and I know my sis is freeking out. We will all miss him so much as he's a lovely boy/man.

We took our lad back last week, on way back DW said he will be catching up on his course work when its Freshers week
Had to explain that it didn't mean refreshing the work but refreshing himself with alcohol
Paul

glad everyone's not so small children have made it safely, hugs to the parents missing them x

We took our son back last Saturday for his second year - not in halls this year but in a private house. I went out to get his Tesco shop and by the time I got back there were 2 other lads lounging on his bed playing on his PS3.
Haven't heard from his since, but I know not to worry after last year. He loves it so much that he forgets any other life exists!

OMG I am feeling such a Bad Mother now as I'm not worried about her at all :rotfl: although I think her Dad is doing my share as well as his own.

I hope my 3 girls all go to University and that they reintroduce grants/ abandon fees by then.;)
Ooh, don't get me started on that one. Don't they know I have a very expensive holiday habit to fund? ;) :rotfl2:
