I don't mean to be hyper technical, but since we are planning to do a day to day booking for a trip in 2009 - does 11 months mean exactly that - for example if we want to be there on May 1, 2009, we can start booking day to day on June 1 2008 or is it 330 days (11 * 30 days average month?)

I suspect it's the former, but never hurts to clarify

My DVC Vacation planner shows that a May 1, 2009 check in would be a June 2, 2008 call.

You book 11 months from the check OUT date. Thus if are checking out on May 2, 2009, then you would be able to book on June 2, 2008.

Note that you can also do a day-by-day booking starting 11 months from the day you'd check out if you were only staying the first night of your vacation. I hope that makes sense. During the first call to MS, you'd tell them the date you will be checking out and then you'd add to that reservation on a daily basis by calling MS.

I just did this! I am arriving Feb 7th 2009, so I was able to call on March 8th. I told them I was doing a day by day reservation and they asked what day I would like to check out. All of the info was in the computer each day I called, and on the last day they asked if I was sure that was all the time I needed. I could have kept going, but we were all set. Just got my confirmation in the mail today! It is really easy!
