Another pregnancy question - Is this normal? Update - no baby yet!

Congratulations! Wishing you all the best. :goodvibes

Good luck to both of you!

No baby yet! They said I am in the very early stages of labor but nothing terribly exciting yet. I'm back at school so hopefully I'll be able to finish out the week and she'll make her apperance this weekend.

Thanks for all the good wishes and thoughts!

leighe,
I was 3 cm dilated and also told I was in "early labor" and would have the baby ANY DAY. This went on for almost two weeks before the doctor finally decided he would have to induce. Luckily, my DD must have heard that from within and I promptly went into labor the night before the induction. The best part was that since my body was already so far along in the labor process, it went really fast, and she was born before my labor nurse could even introduce herself. Hope that happens to you also. Good luck and keep us posted.

I keep reminding myself that that could be the case, especially since I'd be three weeks early anyway. I have this whole list of symptoms to watch for and I can't tell what's real and what's in my head.'

I hope she'll go ahead and wait a couple of days now because I have a nail appointment after school today and DH's schedule is crazy this weekend. ;) Saturday night or Sunday would be perfect. We were planning on going to the UK game next Sat afternoon so if she's a real Wildcat fan she'll hold off a couple of weeks. :goodvibes

This is your first and you are still three weeks from your due date. Don't be surprised if you still have a few weeks and not days. I know how crazy it can make you wondering and anticipating but it will be here soon enough!

Take it easy and get some rest! You are gonna need it!

Best wishes to you for a safe (and quick ;) ) delivery along with a healthy and happy baby :flower: !!!

Call Tubby Smith and tell him to have a little "chat" with her about that!

I posted last week that I was 2 cm dilated and my doctor told me that the baby was coming "soon."

Well, I have been bleeding a little for the past two days and I had a dr's appointment today. They sent me to the hospital for a stress test on the baby because she wasn't moving as much as normal. I am now dilated 3 cm and although they sent me home the nurse said I was probably in "early labor" and would have the baby within the week. One of the monitors they had me attached to kept showing very mild contractions but I never felt a thing - I mean not a single thing. I've been very lucky through my whole pregnancy and I've never had a cramp, a pain, anything. Except for looking pregnant and my belly feeling heavy I haven't felt any different. I just can't believe that the baby may be coming by next week at the latest. Has anybody else almost been in labor and never felt anything? I'm kind of afraid it's going to hit me all of a sudden like a ton of bricks!

I arrived at the hospital 7 cm dilated. I did not have a painful contraction until we were in the car on the way to the hospital, and then, I am sorry to tell you, it did hit like a ton of bricks. I'll never forget that car ride for the rest of my life! I was asking for my epidural the minute I got to the hospital...luckily, I did not have a Dr. who believed in toughing it out even though I was in transition, I still got my epidural. :) I was only in the room for about 3 hours before I was ready to push. Looking back on it 11 years later, it was the most exciting day of my life.

Yup - that's what I'm afraid of.

Ok, ok, I know I can't complain because I'm still 2 1/2 weeks away from my due date but all those early labor symptoms that I was having have gone away! No backache, no little contractions, no bloody-mucousy stuff. In fact, I feel better today than I have in forever! I have tons of energy. Oh well - I can be glad that I feel good and that I won't have to push a baby out today anyway.

:cloud9: Congrats,

I had my first 3 weeks early. Everyone told me I wasn't in labor. My doctor didn't think so until she examined me. BTW, I had a sudden burst of energy the day I went into labor. NESTING for sure!

Get lots of rest. I know how exhasting it is to be pregnant and still teaching. Lots of hugs for you.

Lori
