MINOR SPOILERS
Hey you've probably already read some reviews of this already, but I decided to give my 2 cents. Well I just got back from Poseidon's Fury (since I only had about an hour in the park that's all I did). I quite enjoyed the new version. Let me start from the beggining.
First I must say that the new character "Taylor" (a young bumbelling archeologist/our protagonist) is a major improvement over "The Keeper" character. Plus the guy who was playing him did a really great job. Now when I read descriptions of the ride talk about Darkanon (the bad guy), I really thought it sounded kind of dumb. Well after I saw it I feel that the character works rather well, and is definitly more evil than the old Poseidon. The story is MUCH easier to follow as well and alot simpler (not that I couldn't follow the first one). The sets are pretty much the same except the second room which now has some skelotons and is painted differently. Also in this room the laser "oracle" that opens the door has been replaced by a projected video of a real person above the door that opens into the water vortex (which is still just as cool). I did find this whole part more exciting than before especially because the character leading you through is much more enthusiastic and there is a better plot. The next room looks almost the same as the last room except without skeletons. Those who have seen the old attraction will recognize it as what the room looked like when the walls were down after you were magically transported from Atlantis. I had heard that since the room starts off small then expands the effect of a magical transformation is lost. This is NOT true. It is still just as cool to see a blinding flash and then the room is all of the sudden a big set. Plus the effect happens again at the end. So you get to witness this really cool transformation not once but twice. The effect is twice as good. Anyway, there were a few fire effects that I think were not working, I could be wrong though. The final showdown between Poseidon and Darkanon was more exciting I thought. See Fig. 1

Poseidon (good)______________________Darkanon (bad)
The main problem I had with the first show (and this may seem nitpicky) was that Poseidon was a bad guy. In ancient mythology he wasn't bad at all and he was Zeus's brother. Now Poseidon is portrayed as good. You'll have to see it for yourself to decide. If you have seen the origional show and liked it you might like this one but you could be disappointed. If you didn't like the first one then you probably won't like this one (unless you didn't like it because of The Keeper or something else that isn't there anymore). If you didn't see the first one then don't worry because this one is just as cool.

As a sidenote my freind went on JP River Adventure and said that the first dino's eyes were closed and didn't open. I wouldn't mention this except last time I went on it this dino's head was twisted around sideways so that it looked like his neck was broken or something. What's up with this dinosaur? Is he just hard to maintain because of his long neck?
