Maybe it would be your propensity to that gets you called out on all those threads....or maybe it would be the posting of obviously biased information purported to be fact.......or maybe it would be the snarky attitude you have when some people just don't agree with you as in this response:

Listen - it dont matter what I post (or if I dont post at all....Ive been mentioned several times in a thread I didnt post in!) I get the same responses. Ive chosen smileys as of late - just to prove my point.

Biased my butt. I think the anti pit media is biased. So we're even.

I will not back down as being an advocate for all animals INCLUDING the Pit Bulls. I cant stand back and see them abused, tortured, treated poorly and be okay with it. Nor can I sit back and be okay with anyone making ridiculous statements regarding eradicating the breed (or any breed)

I am the very proud owner of a possible one - and I couldnt love him more. He's an amazing animal who I am very proud to own.

And I know he is not the exception. From my 'biased' sites I read nothing but marvelous things about many of them.

So - I turn everything around on me - fine. But lets be very clear on one thing, what you call 'all about me' I call incredibly passionate.

Because I havent seen ONE thread in the 2 1/2 years Ive been here regarding any other dog bite NOR have I seen ONE thread previous to my adopting Charley about Pit Bull bites.

Perhaps its just a huge co-inky-dink?? Sure - we can go with that.

Please tell me you're kidding? Do you think the media hypes this type of story to get at you personally??? If you have a beef, take it up with the media. They are the ones who are painting all pits as evil. Stories about pits attacking make BIG, GIANT headlines - stories about labs make for 10 tiny lines buried in the middle of the paper.

And I've been seeing stories in the media and here for YEARS...you just haven't been paying attention, because you weren't an owner at that time.

Personally, I'd rather not take any chances. I'm happy with my beagle. And the beagle is Numero Uno this year!

Just a little history about my anti-pitbull obsession. I lived on the same street for 25 years, where almost every homeowner owned at least one dog (32 dogs), the only dogs that ever attacked or bit anyone were 3 pitbulls.

So, yeah, call me obsessed about pitbulls being dangerous and unpredictable if you want....but those are pretty damning odds, no doubt about it.

i know of 4 labs that have bitten probably about six people. 3 owned by one person, one owned by another both on the same block. guess, i should have it out for labs. that's pretty damning odds cause there were about a dozen different dogs on the block.

If personally experience is the liptmus test for being agaisnt a breed, then I am all for banning German Shepards and Chihuahuas

Everyone should love their family pet, or they shouldn't have one, I don't care if it is a pitbull or a fish.

Cathryn, your dog may never attack someone, I've never said that all pitbulls will eventually attack, but many do, and most of the ones I have had personal experience with have, until the attack, been wonderful family pets. Believe me when I tell you, I never would have believed Danielle, our neighbor's dog, would have attacked my DS for any reason. They were "buddies." He played with her EVERY day. Here's how dumb I was...When DH told me Danielle bit DS, I thought he was talking about a girl in the neighborhood. Yep, I actually thought a child did the biting before the neighbor's dog. BUT it did happen and for NO reason. The attack was totally unprovoked. What appeared to be a sweet and loving family pet turned into menacing, violent, uncontrollable animal.

The thing that upset me most was that I had seen this happen two times before on my street, with two different pitbulls. And before you can tell me it could have been any breed of dog, how do you explain that in 25 years time, no other dog on our street ever went after another child. Do you believe that is just a coinky-dink? I know I, for one, sincerely doubt it.

When an attack happens to someone you love, believe me you'll be singing a different song.

For the record, I never said anything about this being all about you. I said these could be reasons why people call you out on different threads. I've seen your posts on many threads before and although there have been times when I wanted to, I have never called you out, NEVER. I may have disagreed with your position, but that's not calling you out, that's just disagreeing. I still haven't called you out, just tried to explain why others have. And seriously, your reputation of being snarky will take more than a few weeks of smiley posts to be forgotten by many.

It was a rhetorical question. Of course you're going to read more stories about agressive breeds behaving agressively. What do people expect. They're the animal equivalent of firearms. In the right hands there is nothing to be afraid of but in the wrong hands they can and do kill. Other times they accidentally go off.

My children will not be allowed near them no matter how responsible the owner is. I'm a pit bull attack survivor. I was 11 years old when it happened and I'm still scared to death of these dogs.

These are the kinds of links that pitbull lovers should referencing to counter the negative stories about the breed. They are made all the more valid because they aren't just testimony from a pitbull lover, they are actual stories reported through normal news outlets.

I have a feeling it only became rhetorical when it was evident that there are numerous articles on the good things that pits have done.

It was a heartbreaking story, you would have to be inhuman not to feel for the poor girl and her mom. However CR was mentioned in the thread over and over and never posted a single post to the thread. So apparently she is important enough to some people to drag her name into posts shes not even posting in.

I’ve been thinking about this and while I don’t believe that every pit bull attack thread is started about you, it’s obvious that you do. You said exactly that. For the sake of argument, let’s just say for a moment that you’re right. Let’s also just say that it’s done in retaliation for your stand on the bannings. If that were the case, that would be wrong. Just like it was wrong for anyone to verbally attack where you live, your job, or especially your child. Those things were wrong and uncalled for and I said so at the time. I also said at the time that I admired the way you held your head up (figuratively speaking) and didn’t seem to let it faze you. It always seemed like you tried to take the high road.

If some of these same people (emphasis on if here, because remember, I don’t believe that’s the case), were starting all of these pit bull threads just to irritate you….would that make what you're doing less wrong somehow? Coming to these threads to deflect blame onto the victim is just plain wrong CR. Even if you’re right about the intent of threads like these, it doesn’t make what you’re doing any better. Blaming the victim and championing the breed on a thread like this is definitely not taking the high road. Be passionate about the breed. Just don’t do it on threads like this one.

That's just my opinion. Feel free to disregard it entirely or to contradict it as you see fit.

Why not scroll through the thread. I didnt begin 'defending my breed' until it started being attacked. I still stand by the fact the gate shouldnt have been opened. So if *that* is defending the breed - so be it.

I'd say that about any breed.

This has nothing to do with any bannings, nor do I really care that much about them. Some seem to think I do, but its delusional.

And I always -do- take the high road.

See NYBlue1's post at the top of the page. CR's names has been drug into pit bull threads that she hasn't posted on. The one earlier this week is just the most recent. Close your eyes to the facts and don't believe them all you want.
So we should all just ignore the fact that the kids tormented the dog and a girl opened the gate? Why is it wrong to place blame where it should be placed? Ingoring facts and sticking to emotions is exactly how the anti-pit setiments continue to grow.
