Another Pirate cruise question

I plan on surprising my nephews with a pirate cruise and I was thinking of sending them a "personal" invitation to the cruise from either Capt. Hook or Smee. My question is do either of those pirates make an apperance on the pirate cruise. I know my nephews would be disappointed if they didn't see them since they were the ones that "invited" them on the cruise.

My girls did the cruise in July and they didn't mention anything about any characters being on the trip. They had a great time though.

My kids have done it twice. There weren't any pirate characters on the boat although the kids tell me there was a character boat that came over but it was Mickey and the gang, not the pirates. They had a great time though.

Thanks for the info. My nephews are totally infatuated with pirates right now and when I read about the cruise on the Dis boards I just knew I had to book it for them. I will still do a cute little invite but leave out that it is from Capt. Hook.

Any ideas about how to word/do an invitiation for this crusie? I am not very creative and don't have any ideas.
