I know I have come to the right forum and I apologize before hand because I am certain this question has been asked many times, but here goes:

I am looking to buy a lot of pins off Ebay and I want to be sure I am receiving authentic pins for trading for my daugher and nephew. There are soooo many sellers that I do not know who to trust . I thought I saw a list somewhere with this information but I can't seem to find it. Can someone help, PLEASE! :flower3:

Thanks

The list in on the first page of this thread

Please be aware that most "lot" purchases are in fact considered scrapper/fake/unauthorized pins.

Good luck!

Oh, I did not know this. Then what is the best way to purchas a bunch of pins to trade, affordably?

Depending on what you think affordable is will determine the answer to that question. Pin trading is not cheap. There are plenty of booster sets that you can buy from Disney that will come with a starter lanyard and 6-8 pins for trading. They are usually $25-30 for the set.

And it depends on how many pins you want to trade each day. There are so many factors in pin trading. I suggest looking at the thread mentioned above and seeing if maybe one of the green list sellers has a lot of 8 or 10 pins that you can bid on or buy. If you find some you like, many sellers combine shipping if you purchase multiple items from them within a certain amount of time.

Now, if you are specifically looking for traders (non rack pins) you can purchase guaranteed lots from this site. You can tell them that you want X AMOUNT of traders and they will work you up a set at a very reasonable price. They are very nice. I have purchased from them in the past (and am working on a lot right now) and I tend to keep more than I trade!

Good luck!

Thanks, this information does help. We are interested in traders(assuming you mean ones to use to trade with). My daughter is looking for specific pins and needs the traders to trade with the cast members. This is just a hobbie but we do have our favorites that we have aquired that we would not trade like the ones from the MNSSHP.

My best advice is to use the link that Spiffie provided and use the green sellers there. You will find some good traders from some sellers there. :)

I agree with Spiffie - I have also bought from Darlene & Nena and they make every effort to ensure that the pins they send you are legit. They trade (a lot) @ Disneyland so many of their pins are from cast members.

While there are always a few counterfeits that make it past their watchful eyes you at least know that they are not buying them for pennies in bulk lots direct from China (like 99.875% of the eBAy bulk sellers do).

HAVE FUN doggone it!!!!

Thanks for this site! And to the OP thanks for asking this question. I too am interested in the pin trading for my kids. I think they will just enjoy the activity of it so it doesn't matter what they start with. There are several "lots" on that site for reasonably priced. I just won some individually from ebay (from a "green list" seller). So if I order some from this site, we should have a good start. If I can get several of them I might be able to join in on the fun and probably become more addicted to it than my children, HA!

I wish you much luck staying out of the addiction! I bet you don't last ONE day!:rotfl:

Please don't forget that if you need smaller or larger lots than are offered by Darlene and Nena, send them a message. They will put you one together. Awesome service! And since they frequent DLR, if you are going to WDW, you will see a few traders that are particular to that park. When we bought our first lot, my kids kept most of them because they had never seen some of them!

Have fun!

Hi Spiffie, just had a chance to view Darlene and Nena's site. It did give an address to email them. I think I am going to give this a go tomorrow (been too busy the past 2 days, long story). Anyhow, thanks so much for sharing this information. I feel much better purchasing pins from reputable people. At least I can feel good about trading honestly (I am not comfortable with all this scrapping stuff going around) and teaching my daughter the right thing. I'll let you know how we make out:thumbsup2

fyi, I have purchased pins from Darlene & Nena many times, in fact I met them by chance at the parks. :) 2 very nice ladies. Anyway, I would email them and let them know how many I wanted and what our favorite characters were and they would put together some good lots for us. We usually ended up keeping about half of them. LOL

Thanks for this info, sounds like they try to go out of their way to help their customers. I like that. Only one problem, like you, if I received pins I liked, then I won't have any to trade :rotfl:

Yep! When chatting with Nena a few nights ago, I told her that this time please send me stuff I DON'T LIKE or I will never have any to trade!!!

I, too, am big on customer service and Darlene and Nena are top notch!

Also, 3happydancers, I wanted to say thank you for going out of your way to do the right thing. And also for making sure your kids know the right thing.:thumbsup2 I have always tried to be an example for my kids and it has rubbed off on them in the trading world too.

LOL the last time I ordered from them I asked Darlene to send stuff I did not like, just so we would be sure to trade it. LOL

You are very welcome! I will let you know how I make out with our pins. I thought I would have gotten to that, but I was faced with a small reservation dilemma that has now been resolved. Also, we are presently booked with the dining plan, and now we are debating on that (sorry ot).

I will definately ask Darlene and Nena to send pins we ARE NOT interested in, for sure :rotfl:.
