Another Photopass Question!!

Wow! Just reading about a Photopass share stresses me out. :scared: I think Molly has the right answer. I'm just going to get it myself, and not worry. I don't feel like being responsible to everyone to send out CD's, and I don't feel like depending on a stranger (although a nice one!) to get my pictures to me. The pictures just mean way to much to me to worry about other people messing with them.

It is a great idea though, but for me saving a little money is not worth the stress of it all. :upsidedow

Thanks Molly!

I appreciate the time you take to answer questions. I am going with a big group of people in Dec. There are 3 different groups in my large group. My parents who are taking my neice, us (5) and our very bestest friends (2) who are not going with their children. We will probably get a bunch of pictures all together, some with separate family groups and maybe some with just grown-ups and some with just cousins/kids. You can see the morphing! ;)

Anyhoo, I was considering a share until I ran into some road blocks. So I will probably just share with my group and call it good.

Since you are sharing with a group already, just get them to go in on it and it will be good.

Word to the wise, though. COLLECT those photopass cards from every member of your group! Do NOT let them go "rogue" on you and decide to "just take a look" by creating an account and entering in that ID number. When they do that, they will ruin the CD, if the photopass people have stopped being kind/taking pity and helping to add a card ID to a "second" account. Just collect those cards so you have total control.

I made an account on the disneyphotoshare.com site and I can't for the life of me find the pricing for the cd's. I can find a pricing list, but next to cd it says to go to products-> cd, and I go there but there is no price. Am I on the wrong site or what!?

(from info from WDW person)

The $59 DLR cd does NOT allow you to edit. You only get the raw .jpg images, which is fine if you don't want to add any of the Disney stuff to the files before you print. If you do want to be able to edit it is more like $80. If you go in on a $99 or $125 (depending on if you get the preorder) share with 6 people you are probably going to pay around $25.

I think I'm going to stick with the $99 share so my cost will be lower. If it ends up that we only have DLR people in my group we can order the DLR cd and it will be cheaper still (I'm the leader).

Where are you finding the pricing on disneyphotopass.com? Did you find where it specifically says DLR is $59 and includes edits - or is it based on what bumbershoots said? I don't doubt you, it's just driving me nuts that I can't find an "official" price list for CDs on that website. Maybe you have to have pictures uploaded to see the prices :confused3

Thanks for your input!!

Alyson

Alyson, as you know I answered your PM, but figured I'd put it here, too.

First, the WDW person has ancient information. At least back to January, that is. :upsidedow

As late as December of '07, you could buy a less expensive version in the parks that only had the basic pictures. No editing. Take it home in your hand. Do what you wanted to do with those pics.

In December however, the 124.95 price (ooh actually it might have been as late as January 25th during my solo trip where I had time to run in and look at the signs) included the NONeditable CD AND 3 4x6 prints. Same price, different "package".

In January or so, they started playing with the price online AND in Disneyland and DCA, first dropping it to 79.95 and currently to 59.95.

The price it is is THE price. The price in the parks still seems to include a couple of prints, and is not editable (though the pictures you are printing CAN be edited, I've been told). The price online is the editable CD.

Once you have photopass card ID numbers on your account, you'll see prices. Those with only WDW card ID numbers will see that price. I have only DLR card ID numbers on my account, and I see the 59.95.

Alyson, since you're the leader, if you do end up with an all DLR group, if you've already paid for the pre-purchase, just get home, check on that 59.95 price to make sure it's still there, and request a refund for the 99.
