Ever since Dad and I got ‘bitten by the Disney bug’ back in 2007 it has been my ambition to visit all of the Disney parks around the world. As we are doing a Disney cruise around Northern Europe in June of this year I decided that I would give Florida a miss and therefore we wouldn’t be using our DVC points. I thought about renting them out but then decided that we might as well use them ourselves for a visit to Disneyland Paris and cross another park off the list.

I had a long wait for the points charts for DLP for 2010 to come out but finally in late August/early September last year they finally popped up on the member’s website. I decided on 4 nights at the Disneyland Hotel starting on Sunday 21st March and leaving on Thursday 25th March for a total of 240 points. I phoned Member Services to make the booking, only to be told that the DLH was only taking bookings until the end of the year. :sad2: I phoned back a couple of weeks later to be told that they were now taking bookings for 2010 but only up to the beginning of March! Finally I phoned back at the end of October and managed to make the booking together with the purchase of length-of-stay park tickets that you have to buy when you book through DVC – total cost was $501.44 (including the $95 transfer fee). Once we had that booked I booked a return trip with Eurotunnel, which cost another £84.

The plan at the moment is:

21st March – Leave home around 8:00 for the drive down to the Eurotunnel where we are booked on the 10:20 train. Arrive in France at 11:55 and drive down to DLP, which I believe takes around 2.5 hours so we should be checking in around 2:30 or so. Spend the evening wandering around, getting our bearings and pay a brief visit to one or both parks.

22nd March – Magic Kingdom

23rd March – Studios

24th March – Re-visiting favourite attractions, shopping etc.

25th March – Spend a couple of hours in or around the parks before driving back to Eurotunnel where we are booked on the 4:50 crossing. Arrive back in the UK at 4:25 and, all being well, home at around 5:45.

I haven’t made any dining reservations for this trip, preferring to ‘wing it’ but hopefully we will be able to get into Walts and/or California Grill at some point. I was considering Buffalo Bill’s as well and will try to come to a decision and book that before we go.

Earlier this week I ordered the new edition of Brits Guide to DLP from Amazon, which should arrive any day now and I can work out properly what we want to do when we are in the parks, although I already know a few attractions are closed for re-hab while we are there.

So that’s where we are for now and I’ll update as and when things change.

Hope you have a great time David, look forward to hearing all about your trip.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I came to a decision in the end and booked Buffalo Bill's so we are doing that on Monday night, other than that this is going to be pretty much a "Make it up as we go along" type of trip for a change.

Got a few things to finish off at work tomorrow then it's one more sleep and we are off! :cool1: Look out for the trip report when we get back. :thumbsup2

David let me know how you get on with Buffalo Bills, I'm planning on going there for our first time in October.

Have a great trip :)
