I must say ... I have turned into a DIS board junkie ... just gotta get my fix ... am cruising on the Wonder with 12 others in my family ... and eventhough I feel well prepared for the cruise, I'm still concerned about what to pack ... we are coming all the way from California with our three kids and I would really like to travel light ... however, I have found so many good ideas here (collapsible cooler, my own soda, a couple of beers, our own snorkeling gear, swimming vest for my littlest one, pillowcases for the characters to sign, cheez wiz for the fish-ies at Castaway Cay, waterproof disposable cameras, water socks, that special sunscreen for sea lice -- kinda freaked out about the whole sea lice thing ---) the list just goes on and on, and I don't think I have any space for CLOTHES anymore ... how much clothing do I really need to bring for a 4 day cruise? we are planning to do Palo -- do I really need formal wear for that ... don't want to be out of place, but don't want to lug formal wear if it really isn't necessary, especially because it would only be for one night! Thanks for all your help ... I know that I will get good advice from all you "dcl veterans"!

Our 1st cruise was 4 day and less then 30% of the men even had on jackets. Most wore docker-style pants and golf shirts or dress shirt and tie. There were even a few in shorts and jeans which is suppose to be a no-no every night. The ladies were dressed in everything from long dresses (very few) cocktail dresses (a few)
casual dresses and pantsuits (about 60%) to a couple in cut off jeans (looked sooo out of place). Almost everyone afterwards says they overpacked. I took several dressy sweaters to wear over outfits at night in restaurants on our 2nd cruise, because I'd been cold on 1st cruise. 2nd time I never needed even one sweater. Whatever you end up packing...have a great time!

I know at night you have to go dressed (well in pants no shorts) How about during breakfast and lunch how do you go dressed for that...........Also where can I find the list of what to take........Thanks in advance

We wore shorts to breakfast and lunch. It was especially casual at Topsider buffet. People were just pulling shorts or sweats on over bathing suits and going to get tray of food for lunch which they took back to the tables near the pool areas. Didn't see any bare feet or men without tee shirts, but it was very, very casual. Don't know about lunch/breakfast in restaurants.

We went on the 4 day last October and we go again next month. I would forgo to cooler and bringing drinks. You can buy drink mugs on board and get free refills. Also, there is a FREE coffee, tea and water stand at the back of the ship on Deck 9 (I think that is the right deck). I would bring water shoes because my sister stepped on a sea urchant (sp?) and it shot all these splinter like things into her foot. It was awful but we learned our lesson. I took tons of clothes last fall, but ended up wearing black slacks and sleeveless sweaters a couple of nights (it gets cold in the restaurants with the a/c on). Not that many men wore jackets. Breakfast and lunch are totally casual. You may want to bring the snorkeling equipment, because rental can get expensive.

It is awesome and you are going to love it! The only things I would bring that I didn't think of last time is a clock that lights up and maybe a fan or white noise maching. It is quiet and very dark in the rooms.
