Leaving on Fri (Dec 3rd) and kids still don't know!!! 12 year old has been 5 times and 8 year old 3 times, but we've hyped it up so much before the other trips, that the trips were almost anti-climatic. The 8 year old has never flown before! The expression on his face will be worth the cost of the whole trip!!! They think that we are going to the airport to pick up one of Daddys old college buddies. I've had to catch myself a few times from slipping!! Staying at Vistana Resort. From what I've read about this place, it appears to be child friendly. Wish me luck in that I don't blow it between now and Friday!!!

DS14 thinks we're going to Hawaii! hahahahaha! I told him earlier today that we're taking a trip to "somewhere" on Sunday and that he needed to give me certain types of clothing. So the questions start. "Are we flying? How long is the flight? Have we been there before? How long will we be gone?" And on and on. I told him the flight would be 8 hours (it *is* 8 hours to Honolulu ;) ) and that we've been there before (and we have been to Honolulu) so he's been dancing around the house thinking he's pulled one over on me. He won't be disappointed that we won't be in Hawaii, I know he'll be all excited about WDW (which is what he'll figure out once we get to the gate at the airport). Ah, kids. Gotta love 'em, even the nosy ones. ;)

We are leaving on 12/16 and my DD 9, DS 8, DS 5, do not know yet. This will be their first trip. It is an early xmas trip, so I haven't decided if Santa is going to stop by on the 15th to deliver, or if we will just tell them I am going out of town for work on the 16th and they can go to the airport to drop me off. My last trip was in May - I had to attend a conference, but was unable to bring them, so they were fairly upset with me for a while.

Santas present to the kids is Xmas at Disney. We have planned this trip since April. I cant wait to see the look on their eyes when they open their presents and figure it out :)

They think their Nana and Papa are coming up to go shopping the day after Xmas. They really are meeting us down there.

We haven't told our kids yet either and we leave 12/29 for 5 days. It is their first time flying and also our first family vacation. They are 8 and 5 and I can't wait!!! We are giving them Disney gifts and then a kids planning book for Disney. My 5yr old will probably figure it out first but I can't wait to see their reaction :flower:

Glad to hear I'm not alone in the surprise. My friends think I'm mean taking the fun out of planning, but it's just easier to get through the rest of school, etc before the holiday break.

We suprised our DD4 and DD2 on our last trip. We had a friend come and take us to the airport and told DD's that we were taking HIM to the airport. DD4 even believed us up to the point we were at the airport unloading luggage--she said our friend had luggage just like ours! She was just starting to read, so I then handed her a plane ticket. She read her own name and then Orlando--then the giggling began! It was great! She had to call all her grandparents--who knew, or course--and tell them from the airport.
We are planning another trip for 1/4-1/10/05. We are making this a Christmas present. We plan to wrap up luggage tags and Disney dollars for the DD's, now 5 and 3. I'm about to bust to tell them!
