Another NYE question

I have been getting more and more nervous about my upcoming trip! Does anyone know what time disneyland racked capacity last year on NYE? I am going with a friend on Friday. I am a premium ap holder and she has printed her two day park hopper online. Do we go to the ticket booth to get her actual ticket? Our flight lands at 9:30 in SNA. if we go straight to the parks, do you think well get in?

TIA!

Good news is that your friend can go straight to the gate with the printout; no need for any type of exchange. The bad news is that DL reached capacity today at 10:00 AM so all bets are off for NYE! If you can't get into DL you should be able to get into DCA as they won't reach capacity until a bit later - hopefully!

Thanks for the quick response! If Disneyland reaches capacity does that mean it is closed to new guests for the rest of the day? I will be bummed if we do not get into DL, but at least we will be there the next day when the gates open.

We were at DL all day today, our 4th day in the park. Christmas day we got there at 11:30 and heard the park closed early, but can't verify that. Sunday was great. Monday you could not stir them with a stick and the park did close early, but we got back in with our hand stamp for the fireworks. Many people left after the second parade. Today(Tuesday) the crowd was way down compared to Monday. We were able to walk through NO and there was no one in the streets hardly, I was able to take lots of pictures of the decorations, yesterday I couldn't even see the decorations. Can't really say what the rest of the week will bring, except tomorrow(Wednesday) heavy rain expected again. There were many people at the park because of the Rose bowl parade and game. Many of them students marching in the parade.

One more question. If she can go through with the printed ticket, how will she be able to get a fast pass?

She will be given an actual ticket in exchange for her computer print out at the turnstiles...she then can access fastpass :)

Yes, it's going to be crowded! I was just watching the late news and as a pp said, DL was sold out by 10am today! They were only letting people into DCA!
So once you land at SNA, hurry over to the Parks!

Also rain for tomorrow but sunny throughout the rest of the week and weekend! May be on the cooler side so bring a fleece or sweatshirt! :thumbsup2

Thanks! The plan is to hurry over (thankfully bring dropped off so no worries about parking) and hope for the best! I'm hoping that since we already have our tickets we will have a better chance of getting in. If not, hopefully we can be in DCA and make the most of it

grandpa6 - I'm glad you could actually see some decorations and walk around yesterday. I hate it when it is so bad that you can't even really see or do anything. However, Disneyland stopped selling tickets 2 hours after opening and stopped letting more people in for the rest of the day (at least they were not letting anyone in as of early evening yesterday). They also stopped selling tickets to California Adventure a bit later. A CM (Albort) posted here on the DIS later and confirmed that both DL and DCA were maxed out. So even if yesterday (Tuesday) seemed less crowded or like the crowds were way down - which is awesome - it actually was just as bad as Monday, if not worse!:rotfl2: There were probably a good 85,000 people or so wandering around for it to reach capacity. Maybe the crowds shifted around to different areas so that it seemed less crowded?:confused3 I know how congested it can get in that NOS area, so that's amazing that you were able to walk through it. There have been times when I couldn't even get back into NOS because it was so packed.

But yes, yesterday was maxed out in both parks and was closed to new arrivals early in the day. Today, with the rain, the crowds will drop considerably (but will probably be more crowded than you would expect on a rainy day) and then tomorrow and Friday and into the weekend will be a madhouse - no other way to say it. It will probably be crazy, jam-packed, 'can't-get-through-Adventureland-or-into-New-Orleans-Square' kind of crowds.
