Another novice flyer, possibly silly question?

Hi again :rotfl2:

As someone who has only flown twice and never with kids, have another question l'm hoping someone can help me with.

My DD will have just turned 2 when we travel, and we are hoping to keep to her normal routine as much as possible on the plane. She normally has a cup of milk before bed which l'm hoping this will encourage her that it's still her sleep time. As you can't take liquids on the plane (or can you?), how would this work? It's just regular full fat milk, not the formula kind so would l just ask for it on the plane?

Planning on taking her milk cup with us, so things are as normal as possible for her.

Thanks in advance :)

We took liquids on the plane, you have to taste it at security if over 100ml, just keep it in the babies cup and they know it's for her.

I'm flying on Monday and will be doing the same thing

That's great to know, thanks for that.
Hope you have a great trip :)

I thought to get through security you could only have liquids in containers of 100ml or less and only enough to fit into a clear ziplock bag (1 per person), but then after security you could buy drinks in larger containers and take those onto the plane?

It's been nearly two years since I've been on a plane so I need to look into this!

You can take baby milk in cartons or bottles as long as you taste it which was always my job.

To be honest as the years went on they cared less and less about it and the last time we needed to take it they didn't bother.

As I recall the Americans never asked me to taste it, only the British.

We took DD at 8 months and 20 months. I have to say I was going to go with the routine thing but FORGET IT! Go with the flow - she was awesome. In the end i gave up on trying to give her bedtime signals and she settled into the new time zone immediately - you will be fine. If you want liquids buy them airside - but remember you need to ditch unused milk before entering the USA>
