Another Nintendo DS/DSi question

My 10 year old DD has a nintendo DS and loves it. Now she is asking for a nintendo DSi for Christmas and I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between the 2 and is there enough differences to justify getting her the DSi. And can anyone tell me if the stylus is the same for the 2 or is that different too. Thanks in advance for any advice!

My 10 yo DS just got the DSi for his birthday on Friday and he loves it! The stylus is not the same for the DS and the DSi. The DSi takes pictures and allows the user to edit and play with the pictures. You can add borders and images, distort faces, merge faces etc. It also has wireless internet capabilities and you can up load your pictures to web sites. Is it really necessary to upgrade to a DSi, probably not, but it is fun for them. My DS was going to use all his birthday money to buy one but my inlaws got it for him. Hope this helps!

My DD10 also upgraded to the DSi and really loves it. She likes playing with the camera and morphing the pictures. She also loves the WiFi.

I hadn't noticed the stylus was different. I just asked her and she said she didn't know if it was different or not - lol. I guess if it's different, it must not be TOO different.

The screens are also alittle bigger and the DSi is longer overall so any fitted case she has for the DS won't fit the DSi. The stylus and the charger are different too.

My dd upgraded hers when gamestop was giving $70 towards the DSi and she loves it, especially the things you can do with the camera. Of course she loves having internet on it too, but she doesn't use that as much as the camera.
