I've been many times.. but this time we're going mid-week.. monday through thursday... is a lot closed? I know during winter months a lot is... are hours cut way back compared to weekends? I hope it still has the same feel and isn't a complete ghost town!

Also, DBF wants to just go and find a hotel.. that's what he usually does when he goes with friends... I always book ahead online. He claimed to get a great deal on a room near clifton hill just going by chance (perhaps not an online hotel? I know there is one hotel right by econolodge on cliften I can NOT find online)... is this VERY unwise? Again, mid-week so I'm thinking we WOULD find a room. just a matter of price and where.

Everything wil be open. No problems there. But, book ahead!! The major hotels fill up quickly. Try Embassy Suites. There right above the Falls a bit away from Clifton Hill. Nice place!!

Call a place called Inn By the Falls.
It is within walking distance to everything and about 100.00 a night.
I have stayed there as hhave a few others on the board and it it quite nice,

Depends on your financial situation as to what hotel you should book. There are good internet deals right now at Comfort Inn Clifton Hill right now including dinner at Boston Pizza and other perks as well for around $200.(2-night stay) BUT if you are looking for some interesting romantic settings try a place called Micheals Inn on river rd. They have some pretty cool themed rooms, (ie. Rocky Mountain room includes a jacuzzi for two built into your own little mountain and large screen tv and surround sound stereo system, another is an Oriental themed room with awesome decorations and including surround sound system and big screen tv and nice jacuzzi tub.) Check it out sometime if it isn't in your budget now. If you like to gamble and want to be near the new casino try the Holiday Inn by the falls, it is across the street from the casino and was quite reasonable at March break time. We stayed two nights and was not terribly expensive we booked ahead online. In the winter it is ok to "wing it " when you get there, but in the summer time I always make reservations ahead. Have a great time!

Not only is everything open and operational during the week, you don't have to contend with weekend crowds. I'd rather visit Monday to Thursday than a weekend...

Definitely book ahead... Compare prices with expedia and go directly to the hotel's websites.

Have fun!

Thanks, Everyone! I found a GREAT deal at Diplomat Inn. It got great reviews I guess they recently remodeled and the staff is very nice. It's within walking distance of everything.. only $180 for three nights:) I've only stayed at "yukky" hotels in niagara falls ... right on clifton hill... and I love it. To me, it's part of the experience. haha!

I'd LOVE to stayin a room overlooking the falls one day. Maybe this winter we will.. prices are so much lower then!

And I REALLY want to check out that Micheals Inn... THANK YOU!
