Another newbie UY question

I have an April UY and travel frequently in December (New Year's to be exact - the busiest time of year, but I love it). Anyhow, the 11 month booking window for this is the end of January. When I book my December 2007 travel in January 2007, my 2007 points won't yet be available. Will I have to borrow the points for that trip, or will they automatically be deducted from my 2007 points account? I'm assuming I'll have to borrow, but I just wanted to be sure.

On a related note, I'll be banking about 10 points this UY. If I do have to borrow for December 2007, can I 'borrow' those 10 points first, or do I have to wait until April 1, 2007 to use those banked points? Thanks!

Your April '06 UY points can be used for accomodations from April 1 2006 to March 31, 2007. You will bank 10- of these points into your April '07 UY. Your April '07 UY points can be used from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

You want to go December 2007 - January 2008. So, you would be using your '07 points. There is no borrowing involved with your '07 points for that ressie. If you still have those '06 points that were banked, mention to the CM that you want to use them first for the New Years ressie. Those points have to be used by March 31, 2008.

Your 2007 points will be available. Points are not "deposited" on the first day of your use year, they are already in your account for stays within that use year.

No you don't have to borrow. The points are allocated based on the time period the reservation is for not the period of time when you are making the reservation.

In other words, don't think about what day it is when you are making the reservation....that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that you have points available in the year in which you are taking the vacation.

Based on my explanation that means that those points will have already been banked into the year that you are taking the trip so nothing has to happen other than the CM using those points first for your reservation which they should do automatically.
