If I am looking at buying approx 250 or more points, and love both Wilderness lodge and Boardwalk, would it make sense to split the points, i.e., buy 100 at one and 150 at the other. Would this mean that both WL and Boardwalk were my home locations and I could reserve 11 months out? Would I only be able to reserve 11 months out for the points that I have at each?

Thanks again for the help!

You would have 11 month priority at both resorts and both would be considered your home for that purpose but you would only have the 11 month priority with the number of points you own at that resort. That means if you pruchased 150 at the BWV and 100 at VWL you could use 150 at the BWV at 11 months and 100 at the VWL at 11 months. At 7 months you could combine them for any resort. A lot of people have done what you are describing. They bank and borrow and stay at one resort one year and the other the next.

Good luck.

You can also bank and borrow points to extend your smaller point groups. Bank '03 points, use '04 points, borrow '05 points for 300 points.

On the negative side, you would have to pay closing costs for two separate contracts, approximately $500 each, which is a lot of extra money if you are not planning on staying at Easter or Christmas-New Year's. If you come down at any other time of year, a 7 month window is usually good enough. I have 3 contracts, and I love having them, but you need to be a flawless bookkeeper in order to have multiple contracts, in order to avoid losing points by mistake. Also, purchasing larger contracts can be cheaper than the smaller contracts, where the seller does not have to budge on the price because there is a long line of people behind you who will buy1-150 pts at full price.
