Hi everyone!

I'm new to the boards here. My cousin is a member of this board and after some thought I decided to join myself.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney World! I'm been too many times to count! Christmas time is my favorite time to go. I also like to hotel hop during the holiday season to see how each hotel decorates.

I currently am living back in my hometown of New Orleans, but have lived in S. Florida for many years. During that time, I had annual passes to WDW and went every chance I could. Most of the time those were solo trips, but hey, I went and enjoyed myself and met alot of nice people.

I hope to meet some great Disney fans as myself on this board!

Thought I'd introduce myself..

Take Care!
Monica

Hello & welcome!!

I'm thinking of planning a trip this year to Disney at Christmas time. Am I crazy?

Hey Monica!
I'm new to this too! And I wish I could say I've been to Disney as many times as you, but unfortunately I've only been twice. However, it only took one trip to fall in love, and I wish I lived closer (I'm in Virginia) so we could go more often.
The first time we went my kids were 6 and 11 years old. Yes, I was an adult before I got to experience the magic. I think that's why I love it so much! It was like being a kid again!
The last time we went was Nov. 06. My kids were 8 and 13. I think my husband and I enjoyed it more than they did. I was just so enthralled by all the attention to details and how they make your whole stay "magical." I know that sounds corny, but it's true.
I want to go back this year at Christmas time for a lot of reasons. We've gone both times in mid-Nov. when it's cooler and less people, so we've seen some of the decorations for the holidays. But I know it's got to be 100 times more the week of Christmas and after, so I've decided I want to brave the crowds and go. I'm also a teacher and it would be easier for me to go without having to take off work or take my kids out of school.
So, since you said Christmas is your favorite time, I'd love suggestions and comments as to what to expect. We probably would stay 5 days this time. My husband wants to be there Christmas Day, but I really want to go for New Year's.
Thanks for answering my questions. I hope we can chat some more!

Ditto, it's the most wonderful time of the year!!! Anything after Thanksgiving everything will be full swing Christmas as far as Decorations. In recent years, they have started earlier due to the popularity of MVMCP, and other events that use to start after T-day now start earlier.

Thanks everyone for the welcome!!! YEP!! Christmas time is my favorite time to go to WDW!!

I also like to watch my home videos when I get sad, or bored like I was this weekend. The cold weather here in N.O. had me inside so I decided to watch my trip videos!!

Hotel hopping is my favorite. One particular visit, my flight came in around 12noon...and I was at my hotel I'd say, in my room by 2pm or so...and I went hotel hopping the entire day w/a friend who works for Disney!!

Lisa, anytime you want to chat PM me!!!

:welcome: We are heading down for our first holiday trip this Nov. I've seen so many beautiful Christmas pictures that we decided to brave the crowds. Happy planning.

Hi all,

I have been lurking in the shadows for about a month . Decided to join cause everybody seem to be good people.

Going to disney july30-aug3 (our first family trip)

My wife, daughter, & myself are from south Loiusiana so hopefully the heat will not be too much of a problem. I have found many tips on the boards that I never would have thought of and hope to find many more.

Just wanted to say hi :)
