DH and I are taking our girls (9 and almost 5) to Disneyland in 2 weeks. It is my first time, and the girls. I am waaaaaaaay excited!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Anyway, We are driving down from Oregon, will be at our hotel from a Saturday to a Saturday. My question, how many days of passes to DL and CA do I get? I am wanting to get 5 and eat, breath and live Disney most of the trip. Am willing to spend 1 day exploring the coast of southern CA. I don't care to go to the San Diego zoo or anywhere else really. We have a zoo here. DH wants to get 4 days of passes then do other stuff. I figure both Saturdays don't even count, with check in and check out we won't be going to Disney on those days. So we are talking 6 days of actual vacation, Su - FR.

So is 4 days enough to really enjoy everything for first timers? Or do I win and we get 5? (I am trying to being accommodating, it's his vacation too)

I would get 5 days. Because it does not cost much more to go from 4 to 5 days. Or you could upgrade your ticket for another day if you find that you want more time in disneyland while you are there.

IMO four days will be enough. You can also add a day if you decide you just need that fifth day.

In two weeks 4 days should work fine.

Make sure you go on Sunday to see F! and Friday for another chance for F! and the holiday fireworks. Hours midweek will be short.

Still can't decide...What is F! ??

Fantasmic.

4 surely will be fine, crowds will be low. On the weekend busier not aweful. So you will get lots of rides in during the weekdays.

Fantasmic is limited to weekends and a not miss show. Fireworks will only be on one night of your visit. Both should be a priority to see.

Thanks! Ok...cool! Off to research Fantasmic pixiedust:

I would go for the 5-day tickets. My thinking is that you will most likely be fine with 4 days, but upgrading to 5-day tickets for your whole family should only be a total cost difference of 40-something dollars. You can barely go to the movies for that anymore. If you have the 5th day available to you, then you don't need to plan to be in the park that whole 5th day. You could do a morning or evening and then still have time for some other activity during the day, or if it turns out you all love Disney so much that you don't want to go anywhere else, then you can have the whole 5th day.

It is true that you can upgrade your tickets while there, but you usually lose the benefit of your pre-purchase discount when you do this, so if you like the idea of 5 days, then you may as well pre-purchase and get the discount.

I would plan to go 5 days but if really not sure you can buy a 4 day and upgrade to a 5 day if you decide to go more. Just make sure you upgrade before the park closes on the 4th day you use your pass. We just went from a Saturday to a Saturday and were in the parks 6 days and had no problem having fun all 6 days. But then we are totally into Disney. Some of it will also depend on what time of year you are going and how busy it will be. If it is really crowded, you may want more days to really be able to see it all and get to go on your favorite rides several times.
