Yay I bought shares last Wednesday and today I received my letter confirming my membership! Only faxed it on Thursday evening!:cool1:

I'm so happy! Also a big thanks to Gwendolen who talked me through the process!:wizard:

Hi Laura & Gwendolen,

Can I ask a quick question?

I bought shares myself through fxcm.com last November and was able to purchase just 20 shares however my Mum is now trying to buy some shares and things seem to be much more complicated. There seems to be some confusion over whether or not I have opened the right account as one employee said I did and another said I didn't and also now you have to put 300 euro into your account when you open it whereas I was able to put in just 100 euro to open mine. Given that the share price is about 3.64 at the moment my Mum will end up with about 80 shares at this rate. Also I paid a one off fee of 14.95 to buy my shares but no mention of this on the fxcm website anymore.

So anyway my question to you is, did you use fxcm or did you use a different on-line company and how much did they charge you for the transaction?

Thanks in advance, Paula

I bought my shares recently too, just waiting for the confirmation to come through about my membership of the shareholders club!

I'd never even heard of Disneyland shares before I found this site. :)

I reckon I'll make back the cost of the shares on our shopping alone!

Can't wait to start getting my perks.... :cool1:

Yay - that was really quick. :goodvibes

Hi Paula
I used FXCM stock trading at the start of May! The shares cost €98.95 for 21 shares including commission @ 14.95.! Maybe google FXCM stock trading and see what happens, Laura on here did it just last week!

Is DLP treated separately for share purposes?

What are the benefits?

Thanks

Thanks Gwendolen,

In the end I actually rang FXCM as e-mailing back and forth was getting tedious and it seemed that every time someone different answered I seemed to get a different answer. The guy I spoke to on the phone was great and said that the account my Mum had opened wasn't the correct kind (even though I checked at the time and was told that it was) so he is going to convert it to the correct kind now and then it should be full steam ahead. Thankfully the share price is staying low while all this to-ing and fro-ing is going on.

Now we just have to hope that our December trip goes ahead so that we can both use our cards for lots of discounts and a first ever visit to Salon Mickey!
