Another New Hotel coming to the Anaheim Resort District

Well, the news just broke as to the property at Katella and Anaheim that was used by Disney during the major DCA expansion for construction vehicle parking/staging years ago (Where Del Taco is next to the I-5).


And that is a Cambria Hotel & Suites (a Choice Hotel Brand), scheduled to open in November of 2018.


The linked Orange County Register article also talks about other upcoming projects coming to the area.

With the prices many of the offsite hotels are getting it is no surprise that developers are rushing to build new hotels. I wonder why there are not more high rise hotels along Harbor. Seems like a great place to build new hotels.

You don't see more high rise Hotels due to a law that Anaheim has in regards to height limits near the parks, as part of a deal Disney made a long time ago to protect the view from inside the original berm.

But yes, seems like the land is getting more valuable and after a downturn in the economy, the turnaround has made the land more valuable and more projects are coming on line.

And I see property owners south of Katella on Harbor looking at the land values, and if they should convert the land to use for a larger property, which means getting higher.
