Another magic band question

We are getting 2 magic bands a piece because we have a 2 day room only reservation before our free dining package starts. Do we have to use the ones assigned to each reservation during that reservation? In other words I have red for the room only then green for the package. Do I have to use the red 2 days then the green or can I use the red the whole time or the green the whole time. Do the bands not get linked until you get there? It's a surprise trip so I got my girls each 2 different colors so they could decide which color they want when we tell them. I got them stickers for one band so I don't think they will want to have to switch.

All of the MBs are already linked to your MDE/MDX account and you can choose whichever one you feel like wearing.

Ok thanks. There was just a post from someone in the same situation that said their magic bands were not linked so I was confused. How would something like that happen then?

More than likely a glitch. Or, the other person could have deactivated a set of MBs without knowing what that entailed. You will be fine. If for some reason one doesn't work, which is unlikely, just use the other.

Are you planning to use the tickets from your package during your first two days of your room-only stay? You do need Guest Services to activate the ticket portion of your package to be used during your room-only portion of your stay.

No we are going to do DTD and Sea World those days. I thought about activating them early so that I could do Sea World on a weekday when it's cheaper but it just doesn't seem worth the hassle.

Then you will be fine because there is no need for your package add-ons until your package begins.
