hey all

Am leaving for WDW on Thursday morning, and have a couple of questions I hope you can help with

First up is a bit of a silly question really...I have a camera and camcorder I will be taking. Both are in cases, the camera in a soft case and the camcorder in a small hardshell type case. I've heard you have to remove such items from the hand luggage and place in the xray in the trays...but is it ok to leave them in the cases or would I have to put them through out of the cases?

Secondly, we've managed to get bags that fit with the UK hand luggage guidelines, but usually come back with a lot more stuff. I don't think the US has a similar size restriction on cabin bags, so would it be ok to maybe take a bigger piece of hand luggage with us in the suitcase, and use that on the return trip rather than the smaller one we went out with?

We're travelling with Travel City from gatwick to sanford

Thanks for any info anyone can help me with

Cameras and laptops have to go through seperate from the bag. It's just so the bag does not obscure the image of the camera/laptop. It's just while they go through the machine. As soon as they are threw you can repack them.

The UK are very tight with the hand baggage. The US don't apparently seem to care. My mum had a rucksack when leaving the UK; it had side pockets that were filled with stuff. With the side pockets filled it wouldn't squish to find in their little box. So she had to remove it all from the side pockets, squash it into the main part and then, although the main compartment was overfilled, the sides moved and the bag fitted into the box.

On the way back, I had 2 bags and a carriage bag and wasn't even took to put one inside the other, as I had seen others been told back in the UK airport. I also saw, in the US, a couple turn up each with a large holdal AND one of those small suitcases. So between them they had 4 large carry-on bags, two of which they really had to fight to get in the overhead storage locker.

It's a bit annoying really. The plane's storage lockers doesn't grow by ten-inches on the US to UK; they're exactly the same there and back. So why can you walk onto the UK-bound flight with god knows how many bags, yet only one tiny one on the US-bound flight. It's one or the other - someone make their minds up! :teeth: :rotfl:
