Hi Micca. Was just thinking of this thread this morning so when I turned on my computer and saw it back on the 1st page I was excited!! I agree with you, even tho, I've seen a lot of us elsewhere this was such a warm place to be. (even without Willy )

It would be nice to see Jevs again, too.

In the past month I have tried again with emails and phone to contact Willy. Also have done Google searches. Nothing. I think Sherry (Octoberbeauty) would have the best chance of maybe locating him, but he might just be wanting to have a nice break from the board.

Good morning from Calgary! Here we are just about through the "cruelest month" - January always seems so long, dark and bleak! It's a balmy 44F here and we've been riding a week-long Chinook Wind cycle and no immediate end in sight! We had a miserable stretch around Christmas with blizzards and temps in the -15F range for several weeks. It really messed with my festive wardrobe as tights and boots replaced the flippy little cocktail dresses and heels I planned to wear to holiday events.

It's impossible to speculate on what may have become of Willy, which is worrisome given the condition he was in when we last heard from him. Jevs is totally baffling, I never would have anticipated her abrupt departure. Warm thoughts going out for both of them.

Sorry about this. I have one too and when the ortho told me it was a minor issue that wouldn't likely cause much trouble, she was right. My knee is a little stiff now and then, and I can definitely feel the thing in there, but thus far I've declined to get on a surgery wait-list.

I agree, I often say January is the worst month. Also ranking low are Feb, March & April. Not sure why we haven't heard from Jevs, it is summer down there so she may be busy with the kids. I'd offer to make her breakfast a la King Schultz but that's a high bar for me Nice to see everyone who checked in.

Hi, everyone! We just returned home late last night from WDW. Vacationing in January is a good way to make it not the worst month! Except the crowds did seem heavier this year compared to last January at this time. I blame it on ProBowl.

Does anyone know if Jevs made it home safely from her trip? I don't recall reading anything about that. I remember some flight delays, and I think that's the last I read about it.

WillyJ, WillyJ, wherefore art thou, WillyJ? Also, it seems OctoberBeauty has been missing for awhile. The moral of this story is stay away from Coweta. WillyJland will have to relocate. This is the thing that's hard about internet friends. They can just disappear, and then there's nothing you can do about it. Not having met face to face doesn't lessen the degree to which you care about people - at least in my experience. Hopefully our missing friends will return when they are ready. That's my "it's all about food" orientation slipping through. You can show me a picturesque landscape with oceans, mountains, flowers, and wildlife and if there's a burrito in the pic, I'll hone in on that.

Sorry you're having a rough time. Unfortunately, I'm right there with you. Winters, even South Florida style, are always hard on my health, but it seems to get worse each year. It's really starting to get me depressed. Hopefully, things will look up for both of us soon.

I'm with you on the food. DH & I always say, you can give us a nice hotel & excellent food & we'll find something to do anywhere. Food & hotel are definitely more important to us than destination is.

Winters, even South Florida style, are always hard on my health, but it seems to get worse each year.

Winter is not my friend either, at least now I'm not required to get out much in the weather. I think somewhere around the time I turned 50 I started noticing I'm just a better person when the temps average 60 degrees or higher. I'm not a fan of super hot weather either, but I can maintain my comfort much more easily in hot weather than cold weather.

Sooooo, moving on...Any big plans for the big game on Sunday? It's pretty much a non-starter around my house, the game will be on but mostly because the tv is usually on all day Sunday anyway. Obviously I have given some thought to some terribly unhealthy food to have around the house. I'm thinking we forego formal meals in favor of grazing. Start with a cinnamon roll late morning, perhaps some crudites with hummus early afternoon, nachos later in the afternoon, a cheese tasting early evening, then maybe a piece of cheesecake or perhaps apple pie...with ice cream?*

So fellow ALDIOians, what's the menu/plan?

* Yes I sincerely think about this, but it occurred to me this could also be bait to lure @jevs back
