But that was Donnie Moore, and all kidding aside, he killed himself a couple years after that.

I'm sure you didn't know that, and he other issues, but it was pretty sad.

No, I didn't know that; that sucks. (My son is a pitcher.) I will have to look him up.

I know I've read that Bill Buckner had thoughts of suicide, too, after his WS blunder. It would probably be worse today with social media.

We went on to lose the Series that year anyway, if it's any consolation.

Heck, I remember sitting in a bar in Tulsa with 50 other people cheering for the Sox when they won game 7 against the Yankees after being down 3-0.

And I loved the Bird, McHale, Parrish, D. J. Celtics.
