Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Thanks for thinking of us. We're at a hotel. I was more concerned about losing power than anything. So far, it hasn't been bad at all. Parts of our county have lost power, but I don't know if our home was included in that. We decided to evacuate to a hotel with a generator just in case the entire area loses power. The biggest challenge was finding food. Everything closed down early, including the restaurant in our hotel. We finally found a pizza place willing to deliver, even though the roads were officially closed at 3:00. A few people appear to be ignoring the closure, but we're staying put.
Thinking of you, stay safe.

It's the WEEKEND WORD OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Autumn arrives there's a nip in the air, and in today's WORD--RUMINATE: The act of thinking deeply about a topic whilst consuming rum.

In a sentence: My buddy & I were enjoying some cocktails and we began to RUMINATE about why Captain Morgan was never promoted to Admiral.:sail:

WORD OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's word is inspired by guest behavior at WDW--OBSTTRACTION: When one or more guests hesitate at the entrance to an attraction, unaware that there are a number of other guests piling up behind them as they obstruct the entry way.

In a sentence: That family at Space Mountain created a total OBSTTRACTION while waiting for someone in their party to return from the restroom.

Ugggh....I experienced massive obsttraction at nearly every attraction at Universal, Sea World, and Animal Kingdom last week. That's probably my biggest pet peeve at theme parks, more than line cutters or being bumped by moms driving strollers aggressively. DH just barrels past shouting "coming thru."

Lot of times when I ruminate I cannot remember it the next day!! ;) :teeth:

Your DH has style :thumbsup2

I'm guessing our Florida resident is okay. Tarheelmjfan check in when you're able.

It's a lovely day here in the Valley :sunny:

Shortly I'm going to drag the kids out of bed (it's 915am) and force them to do some weeding ;)

I may ruminate later tonight with the cats, always a great conversation given they're the only things living here that don't argue with me :D

Thanks for the positive thoughts. We live between Ft Lauderdale & Miami.

As usual, our weather was very much over exaggerated. :sad2: We went by the house today. Blinking clocks indicated we had lost power at some point, but it was back up by the time we went by. There was no damage. Comically, there wasn't as much water pooled in the street as there is, after a typical Florida rainstorm. :rotfl: You really can't even tell a storm passed nearby. We had already paid for the night at the hotel, so we're treating it as a mini getaway.

First hope all in the line of Matthew are safe & dry

Perhaps I really will send him some Vegemite from all of us in ALDIO - safety in numbers and all that ;)

Why would you threaten him with vegemite. I have taster it, thank god the NyQuil was close. I think it is a natural antidote. :jumping2:

:dancer:

I prefer Captain Jack

I hear ya! It's like people forget there is pedestrian traffic on all sides when you're in a crowd like WDW. I was behind a woman at F&W, we had already ordered & paid, and were at the main window waiting for our food. The CM puts the food container in her hand, and she does a 180 and nearly knocks me over. I guess people just get excited and/or disoriented.

Hey all! Hope you are all doing well! I think at the Wal-Marts here where I am we need posters warning of obbstraction type events with people going for a box/can and then standing and thinking while you know exactly what you need and have to wait.

We have "meetings" in our supermarkets where people decide to stand and chat with others in the middle of the aislesmaking it impossible for anyone else to get past. One of these days I might lose control of my trolley and send it flying down the aisle creating a pile up.

WORD OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's word --NONPOLOGY: A weak or insincere attempt at an apology that is likely more of a PR move than any actual remorse. NONPOLOGIES are common among celebrities and other public figures.

In a sentence: The quarterback caught driving drunk commented on how wrong he was and that it was a huge mistake, but it is obviously a NONPOLOGY to prevent getting suspended from the team.

The classic nonpology I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my remarks which weren't intended to offend.
