Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Hi everyone!

To help PollyannaMom out EEE is short for Eastern Equine Encephalitis carried by mosquitoes. We have had cases here in lower Michigan. In fact I might not let my 2 yr old grandson out after 7 tonight because that's when the mosquitoes come out and right now with the very hot temps, they are definitely all over!

I'm enjoying the heat though because in Michigan when the temps really drop they don't come back up for a long time!! :sunny:

Ronandannette you can keep your frost up there for just a tad longer! ;)

:cold: I already keep it about 8 months of the year - what more do you want from me? :rotfl2:

EEE? Is that from the mosquito?

I was wondering myself. Sorry @PollyannaMom , you're going to have to help us out.

Couldn't decipher that one. Thinking "Extra Expedition Everest???":earboy2:

I wish!

@Kitty 34 is correct. There have been 10 cases and 2 fatalities lately in MA, and everyone is worried. (In fact, when I Googled to provide a link, all I had to type was "Eastern" and it came up. 😲 )

My town is currently on "high" risk, but two neighboring towns are at "critical".

I'll take your frost and trade you our heat, ronandannette. We also need the rain you guys will be getting, Dan. It's still hot and terribly dry here. I cannot believe we're predicted to still be in the mid 90s in Oct. I would think we're turning into the tropics except for the lack of rain.

Kitty34 and PollyannaMom, I've been worried about you guys with all of the EEE news. I hope cold weather comes soon and knocks it out for you guys. Our horses are vaccinated against it, but it's scary to think humans can get it, too, and die from it.

This made our news with the tragic story of a young family grieving the loss of their toddler. :sad1:

Didn't see the toddler story, Jane. Thank goodness I had my grandson in before 7 last night. And this afternoon a SIL came over to tell me that our HS homecoming football game has been moved from their usual time of 7:00 pm to 5:00 pm this coming Friday. To have them move it is crazy.....that has never happened!

PollyannaMom....be safe.

Thank you Twilight for your well wishes. It is very weird to be that concerned over a mosquito bite after all these years.

......and Ronandannette, we will have to work out some deal with you guys getting frost earlier than Michigan. Just let me know! :rotfl:

Frost? Frost is for amateurs - snow in September is hardcore, baby. :(

This made me laugh on Monday and again today.

We're having temps in the lower 80's come Monday and Tuesday and then boom.........lows will be near 40 and highs possibly near 60. I doubt we'll see 80's again until next May or June. I'd love to be proven wrong, tho!! :teeth:

RonandAnnette, do you guys have any more warm weather for us when the winds come from the Northwest?? :rotfl:

Just read that the Western Prairies are expecting 60+cm SNOW! YIKES!!
It's been snowing off-and-on since this morning, which is weird because the temperature is still above freezing (3C). It's suppose to continue all weekend and accumulate as much as 2". We shall see. :(

It's in the low 70s here in the Bangor Maine region, sunny, maybe a thunder shower this afternoon. Couldn't ask for a nicer day, but I did see there's an ugly snowstorm approaching the Rocky Mountain states. Looks like Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, etc., might be in for some early snow.. to say nothing about our friends to the north. Batten down the hatches, friends in the north!

We had a skiff overnight and it's forecasted to continue off-and-on all weekend but the accumulations are nothing so far. The ground is still too warm. Temps dropped below freezing overnight though because my flower beds are toast.

The predictions are being revised downwards for closer to the boarder; it's almost impossible to believe that almost two feet of it will actually fall.
