Another location question

When the park is not open, can you walk from Harbour to Disneyland Drive/Magic Way?

I ask because I will be there in September for the DL Half Marathon and 5km. From the course maps, they appear to start at/near Disneyland Drive and Magic Way. We were planning on staying at the HoJo or BW Park Place, but if, on race morning, we'd have to walk down to Katella and back up, we may re-think. I know that it isn't that far of walk, but for a 6am race start (and then running 13 miles), I'd rather it be short.

NO, you can pass through the esplanade and DTD at any time. I can't imagine they will have that area closed down for the race unless they race through there (don't know the course) so you should be fine to cut through!
