I know you can bring lightsabers on as carry-on when flying. But, if you are flying Spirit does this count as your personal item? I have a trip coming up that I'm trying to fly with personal item only. If this counts as that, I would need to add on a carry on.

I'll be honest, I've never flown Spirit but for most other airlines, the personal item has to fit under the seat in front of you. The lightsaber wouldn't do that so I assume it would be classified as the carry on. But Spirit may have different rules.

If it results in you having to pay more, then Spirit is going to charge you lol. But my flight was cheap enough that I don't care really. Just want to be prepared.

If you're carrying it separately, I'm not sure why it wouldn't count as either your personal item or carry on? It's not exactly pocket sized. It has to count as one or the other.
