Does anyone really use the recommended amount of soap/detergent to wash their clothes?

I find that I use FAR less than they recommend but my sister uses more. I don't like the idea of soap residue in my clothes so that's why I use such small amounts.

I find that my clothes aren't "clean" if I don't use enough soap. my washing machine does a very good job of rinsing the residue. if you're having a problem, maybe you should run the clothes through an extra rinse cycle.

Patti, that happens with me when I don't wait to put my clothes in. I have to wait until it dissolves. At least with my washer. It doesn't matter how much soap I use, if I'm impatient, it'll do it every time.

I use a little less than the recommended amount but I also use a scoop of baking soda with colored clothes and bleach with whites. The baking soda helps neutralize odors and make the detergent work better.

I use liquid, it doesn't have to "dissolve". but it will leave residue if not properly rinsed.

Ya know I never even thought to look at how much I was supposed to use. I just fill the little cup on my liquid soap and add a scoop of oxicleanl. I just toss it right on the clothes and they come out fine for me.
